I have to admit that I was a bit of a skeptic, when my wife asked that we send our two girls to St Joseph's School. They were doing just fine in our local public school. The return on my investment has been invaluable. They have a better sense of who they are personally, a better moral compass, and extended more christianity into our home. Their grades were never a problem before, but I think the personal attention they get now with a smaller class size, almost half, has helped them to accel faster. I recommend the school to anyone moving into the area or looking for change.
St. Joseph School is a wonderful school. My daughter has been there for 3 years now (since PreK). She has learned so much academically and is far ahead of her public school peers. Along with the great academics are the morals and values that are taught. The teachers challenge the kids to do their best, and because the class sizes are small each child gets a lot of individual attention. I also love how the older and younger kids all know each other. My husband and I are so thankful for this school, and our daughter loves it.
I love this school. After pulling my kids out of a so-called great public school, I can honestly say this was the best thing I could have done for them. They are happy, love their teachers and do not have to deal with the bs that comes along with public schools - cliques, bullying, problem children, etc. They are also being challenged instead of being taught to ace the CMT's. Come for a visit and see for yourself!
I've been going to SJS ever since I was in Grade K! I am now a 7th grader and their is no place I'd rather be! Some of my out-of-school friends don't know all the kids in there class, and don't even know there teacers! I feel lucky that I go to SJS!
Both my children have been students at SJS for 8+ years. The proof of the education my children have received can be clearly seen in standard testing results, both through the school and also from outside sources. In addition to the academics, the values that are important to my family are clearly reinforced at the school day in and day out. The school continues to stay ahead of the curve with respect to technology and it's application, with a state of the art computer facility. There is now a Pre K program at SJS, located in seperate building on campus with a brand new playscape area, utilized by the younger students only. As a more than satisfied parent, my suggestion to other interested families would be to set up an appointment with the principal, and see for yourself. You will feel welcomed the minute you walk in the door.
Principal too stern...granted she is an authoritative figure to the students she can certainly learn to be friendly with ALL parents. have seen students get yelled at by teachers and definitely not nurturing with the younger grades. One might wonder why you would send your child to this type of environment and pay for it?? when your child is too passive you fear public school bullies...so now you pay to protect your child from bullies but deal with teachers who are underpaid and miserable.
