I still have a problem with the teacher's union meeting during school hours. That should be left to administrative days of which there are not nearly enough.
The teachers overall work well into the night to keep up with the demands and pressures put upon them by the administration. I t would be better for the students to have one aid placed back in each classroom.
We had them when we were children and the demands on the teachers and students have only grown.
Everyone in this school has an opportunity to make on to the Husky Hero wall. These are given to students that act honorably towards others. For example. Helping pick up belongings of another with out being asked, finding money that someone lost and turning it into the office without being directed to do so, volunteering to show a new student around the school, and even playing with and engaging with other students whom haven't quiet come out of there shell is rewarded.
The admisistration rules out parent involvement towards disabled children. They see budget over program and try to sell you on what "they say they will do" and then ignore 504 plans and IEP's.
The head of the Special Education department is old school. It is time for Rocky Hill to get some fresh blood into the program. A real advocate that knows how to balance and oversee what staff are doing.
