Set in a small town in northeastern CT, the middle school offers an outstanding music department. SMS chorus students have national recognition for their performances. Students at SMS have scored at the top of their ERG on CMT tests. Homework assignments are posted on the internet. Technology is an integral part of the curriculum. Drama, Crafts Club, Homework Club, and all manner of sports are available after school. SMS is a safe, friendly, supportive, academic community of students and staff. It's a great school in a small town in CT's 'Quiet Corner.'

If your child has any special needs this is not the school for you! Parental desire and/or concern is of little importance in this school. The principal doesn't seem to be interested in the students' or the parents' concerns. There is no communication between the teacher and parents unless you actively pursue it.

This a very good school. Yet, i must admit, this school does not really have many after school activities, personally, they schould have many more clubs, like photography, computer club, and so on and so forth. This school is aslo not that great with parent involvment. It seems as though the school does not want much parent help and wants to run on it's own. I think that parents should be involved, because their children do go there 5 days a week. Yet, besides the point, this is a clean, very safe, organized school, and I do recomend it to people.
