The high school has gotten better at curbing some of the bullying that has gone on in the past buth there still are some teachers that still tend to look the other way. The 9th grade academy is a huge asset and we are seeing much more diversity among the school population. The brightest stars in the school seem to be the music program and theinified sports program. Cudos to both and to the new administration. Go Stafford High School!

Stafford high has a mix of poor to great teachers though the percentage of good would range from about 20 to 30 %. If you are able to have your child attend a different high-school i highly recommend it. Guidance is poor and useless and some teachers are very rude. Also a considerate amount of bullying is throughout the school and teachers dont seem to do anything about it. all in all NOT a recommended school.

Excellent teachers. From Preschool - 12th grade. Many after school activities that get the kids involved and bring in the parents to be more proactive and involved.

School seems to think they are the parents and do not notify parents appropriately when discipline is administered to their child.

Poor, Not good support for kids with learning disabilities. Not communication between teachers and parents. Give good support to children that are college bound.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Connecticut used the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) to test students' skills in reading, writing, science and math in grade 10. The CAPT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Connecticut.
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, the Connecticut Department of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the CAPT test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
