Not worth the tuition. Very over hyped. All communication feels scripted. Terrible transition experience, no written records etc.

Fabulous school! Our son is returning for his third year (1st grade). The teachers are incredibly thoughtful, cheerful and capable. Teachers regularly observe one another and are required to praise and constructively criticize one another. The results are amazing. I wish all schools worked this way. Children are loved and taught as individuals. Every child gets a daily one-on-one lesson with a teacher. Classes in art, yoga, social studies, science, music, dance/movement, Spanish, chess (K+), plus math/reading/logical reasoning and unstructured outdoor time. The buildings and campus are beautiful, with lots of natural light and large rooms that allow children to roam freely and choose which activities they're interested in. Drop-off and pick-up can require 10-minute waits while cars loop around the long driveway. Experts come to talk with parents several times a year (some of these lectures are open to the public). The main problem is that it ends at 2nd grade and kids eventually must leave. And only a half-day program for 3-year-olds.

My son finished his first year at The Children's School (TCS) and it was a wonderful experience for him, as well as the entire family. It's an exceptionally nurturing school and addresses the whole child. My husband and I could not have imagined a more special place for our son.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
