I am a parent of two children who each attended WHS for four years and graduated from WHS. In spite of the inconsistencies in administration prior to my son's 2006 graduation, he was able to have an outstanding high school experience . . . with commitment, a great attitude, and advanced studies, he was able to get a generous scholarship at a highly respected university and is now attending a top-20 law school. Our daughter graduated in 2010 and benefited from the wonderful changes that have taken place. The principal and administrative staff are determined to provide a world-class education to ALL of Windsor's students. The principal is devoted to the success of each individual student, and has hired staff that reflect that philosophy. While no school is perfect, WHS is striving every day and succeeding. Students are respectful, happy, and avail themselves of the many opportunities available to them at WHS. If your student is not succeeding, you would be wise to investigate the commitment that you and your child demonstrate for his/her success. So glad that my children are WHS graduates!

As a student who is about to graduate from Windsor High School, I can tell you that this is one of the worst schools in Connecticut. The staff does not seem to do a good job helping the students succeed, students constantly bully other students, they focus much more on athletics than they do about other school-related activities and our principle is doing a poor job running the school. I would not recommend this school for any student. If you are attending this school right now, I feel very sorry for you.

This school is horrible. Some of the staff loves to put on a great show when the parents are there like they're doing their job when it is really the opposite way around. An absolutely terrible school!

This school has shown great strides in improvements of academics and maintining student involvement and reducing any behavior concerns. The principal is great and the quality of teachers are fantastic. Many opportunities for intelligent and motivated students. Any previous complaints within the past year and half are from parents of kids who are not motivated to learn or involved. Stay involved with your childs school and functions and your child will succeed anywhere they go. You do not have to go to a private school and waste your money when your taxes are paying for the public school system. Get involved parents.

I see some people saying that this school doesnt guide you alot and that it isnt there alot of help. It is true i've never been to guidance to ask for anyhting, but this is life , how many times are you spoon feed? Really, if you need information.. well it's 2009 go on the internet and you take it . They have college fairs that let you speak to colleges representatives, but it is your job to find what you want to do as a major, Windsor High has plenty of programs for doing so such as: TV Productions, Cullaniry Atrs, AP courses etc. They have 4 levels of courses based on your porformance in MIDDLE SCHOOL: College (which may have alot of distractions). Honors (a decent class that pushes you), High Honors (well-behaived challenging), AP (HIGHLY challeneing). This school has ALOT to offer, TAKE IT.

This is absolutely one of the worst schools in the state - it is run entirely by the students and an administration that feels the need to cater to every student and parent desire. There is no discipline as the administration is out to 'save the world' and refuse to enforce any discipline. If you are thinking about moving to Windsor and have children, think again. Low performing schools, with low test scores, and incompetent leaders.

I am a parent of a graduate of Windsor High and currently very involved at the High School. If you are a graduate and was very disappointed about your tenure there, take a moment to visit. Windsor High is back. It has an amazing Principal and outstanding staff. There are some great things going on. There have been many changes this year and it is improving on a daily basis. I give it a thumbs up. Sure there is still work to be done, but it is being done. Every school has some problems, but the amazing staff at Windsor High is on it and committed to the students who really want to learn and be a part of the community. If you are a parent, get involved. Don't wait until your child has a problem. Communicate with the teachers and staff. They are there to help.

Let's be honest. This school is garbage compared to the average Connecticut high school. Piss poor test scores and no discipline. Im happy to be out of there.

In the past couple years, the school system has undergone quite a cultural change, but the schools were unprepared for this change. There are major problems with behavior and the discipline that isn t taking place. The school is basically run by the students and most of the teachers and staff don t seem to care. And worst of all the board of education and especially the superintendent of schools act like there are no problems at all, so nothing is getting done. And if you have a problem with anything, don t even bother to look for help in this school system. Not even the superintendent will do anything to help you at all. I believe the town could change and bring the schools back to being as good as they once were, but they need someone to step up and do something about this.
