This shows the percentage of teachers who have completed a bachelor's, master's, specialist's or doctorate degree as reported by the state department of education. In general, teachers with advanced degrees (a master's,
specialist's or doctorate) are well trained and skilled in their fields, which is especially important at the high school level.
In Georgia, the degrees earned by teachers have an impact on the level of teaching certificate assigned to them. Each
certificate indicates the highest level of teacher education recognized by the state.
