I think that there is a good administration who is trying to do good things for this school. My son has been very happy here. I do think the curriculum may be behind the last state we lived in but I do know accelerated classes are available if your child needs a challenge. There is a lot of encouragement for parents to be involved that I have not always found at the middle school level. Of course there are some teachers and students that are less than stellar but that's everywhere. I disagree with the students having limited bathroom breaks and not being allowed to have a water bottle those are things that should be changed. Stay involved and I think you'll be happy here.

I agree with the last review! My children also have been a Lake Forest since they started school and I am also very concerned about the my children's reading and writing skills. Esspecially writting. From what I have seen they are at least two grade levels behind. The class sizes are much to large. Polytech is the place to be. I only wish they had a middle school. The attitude of the students and teachers is wonderful. The chilren are treated like poeple not numbers and they can actually use the bathroom when they need too. Imagine getting a referral for using the bathroom. Sounds like a rights violation of you ask me!

My children have been in this school district since they started school and are currently in 6th grade. They have very poor reading skills and poor writing skills. The teachers also spend too much time giving the children candy. So be prepared for your children to have to go to the dentist. Too much bullying going on in this school and not enough teaching.
