The school is not very welcoming to parents and has a weak PTO. Usually only five PTO members at meetings, however, if you ever attend, you will see why. The school does have strong, highly qualified 8th grade teachers who truely love to teach.
Mariner, With its occasional Ups and downs) is all in all a wonderful school ive gone there from 6th to 8th grade and all three years have been great ive met many new friends here and have learned alot to. All the teachers at mmariner always encourages us to do better and i have every year i have gotten better with my learning and my behavior thanks to them and anyone planning to take there kid to this school, i highly recomend that.... ;-)
Mariner, (with its occaisonal ups and downs) is an amazing school and i dont think i could find a better one out there. Everyone in the building encourages all the students to do they best they can and then even better than the best, I went to that school from 6th grade to 8th garde and for the three years that i spent from that school, ive learned alot. Ive gotten so much better at my studies that i have made to the A, B, honor roll all throughout the year thanks to them. All the teachers at the school are amazing and dont make anyone feel left out in class, and they even make sure everyone knows what there doing and tries to get everyone to pass (and usually everyone does). And if your planning to bring your kid to this school, i highly recommend that. :-)
Great School. Sports are now offered beginning in the sixth grade. I feel the kids who participate on the sports team experience the team/family sense of belonging. Wonderful place for my child to get a great education with a well balanced group of peers.
Milton Middle was a great school. Although it did not encourage or have after school sports for children in the 5th, and sixth grade. Children must wait til the 7th grade which I thought was very unfair. The school has the dare program and I think that was very important in this day and time when drugs are bad in our country. The School nurse is the best in the county.
