SDSA fosters an atmosphere of creative learning, respect, and challenges children to think 'out of the box.' I can't think of a better environment for my child to grow. The teachers and staff are very supportive of one another and encourage the students to do the same.
I attended this school for my 8th grade year (the highest grade available) the year it opened and I never enjoyed school so much before or since. I am planning to transfer my son to this school because I highly approve of hands-on, arts-based education. I have an 18-month-old daughter who I will have attend this school as well once she is of age. I highly recommend this school to any parent, especially those who find their child is having difficulty in other public schools and loves the arts. The drama and dance programs are exceptional, and the arts program was very enjoyable. I attended mainly for the music program and enjoyed chorus, band, and jazz band in addition to standard music classes.
I have recently graduated from the halls of this pleasant school. Although I only came to S.D.S.A. my 4th grade year, I've had many good experiences at this school. The only problem I've experienced from an outsider's perspective is that this school is ridiculously sheltered. Sporting events would at least integrate students with possible school mates in high school but I'm sure some parents would prefer the least amount of interaction with the public as possible. The sheltered lifestyle also contributes to the mind boggling immaturity of some of the student body. Not all students have this trait, but a majority does.
sdsa is a good school i have bein here my whole life,it was a better elementary school although they are tough to get along with all the teachers are great and very good at there job. the arts program is AMAZING!!the drama program is the best in the world!so is the social studies.there is no p.e or any sports so that makes it tough i love sdsa even though i try not to addmit it
O my goodness! I love this school! I'm a student going in to the 7th grade. My opinion on the school is that I wouldn't go anywhere else. The teachers are so great .I feel that they teacher above other schools. Even though there are no sports for the middle school children , we all have a blast with the arts! I love this school!
im a student and i have been at sdsa for 8years. 1-5 is probably the best education you can get in sussex but middle isnt that great. The teachers get worse and you really have no way of communacating to them.
I've gone to this school since 5th grade and I'm now in 8th. I love it. I found my voice here and it is a great opportunity for me to learn through the arts. We feel like family here and I believe that anyone comes here, they will love it just as much as I do.
I'v been here sience 1st grade and i luv the arts progams here... newspaper rocks my blue socks...
i have been going to school since 1st grade . i am now in 6th grade and i have to say i love it . in 6 th and up they really want you to pick an art to stick with. i love to sing so this is the best thng this school has to ofer.
I have attended SDSA since 2nd grade. I'm currently going into 8th grade and it is the best school for anyone who loves the arts and loves to learn. The teachers are amazing. I'm in choir and Mrs.Adkins really knows her music. It's going to be very sad to leave this coming school year. SDSA is like a big family. Everyone knows everyone and you are close with everyone. The teachers are awesome when they aren't teaching too! It's nice to know that if you are going through anything you have so many people to help! Over all my SDSA experience is definitly a good one that I will never forget!
