Talley is a caring school with wonderful teachers and an awesome administrative team. The students are engaged and the test scores show it.

I go to Talley and it ia a really good school i am in the IB program which is so cool because it challenges your mind in different ways and also the staff treats you as if you are there own.

My child attended this school from 2006-2008. We came from a small private school environment so I was concerned with switching to a public school (larger population, uncaring, overworked teachers and administration, etc). I must say my child and I were extremely pleased and happy at Talley. The teachers, staff and administration are responsive, professional people who care about educating and preparing your child for high school and life. My child was in IB (excellent program) and the teachers for 7th and 8th grade are outstanding. Dr. Carter has done an exceptional job at turning this school around and Mr. Potter is wonderful with the students. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a balance of quality education, activities and life preparation.

I am a student that actually goes to this school and I'm here to tell you that this is a very decent school. I am coming from a private school and I fitted in immediatley. If you are not being challenged the staff will immediatley move you up a level and see how you are doing then. Extracurricular activities are very fun but challenging enough that you can enjoy them without getting frustrated. I myself play soccer and enjoy it immensly. Parent involvement is not at such a hot level right now. The principal is doing all he can to change that so, the world is in his hands. Rarely do we have any fights, probably about 5 this year and I must say that they have been taken care of professionaly. I like this school and I am sad this is only a two year school. Thank you.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Delaware used the Delaware Comprehensive Assessment System (DCAS) to test students in English language arts and math in grades 3 through 10, in social studies in grades 4 and 7, and in science in grades 5, 8 and 10. The DCAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Delaware. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
