Hate this school with a passion. I signed my children up never knowing that there was a one year contract so when I tried to withdraw my children they told me I couldn't. Since my children have attended this school their behavior has declined and they are very unhappy. Teachers quit all the time without any notice. Literally there one day and gone the next. They don't care about your children. Do not send your child here. Major disappointment. Money is the motive here that's why they make you sign a contract. Worst school ever. I'm so upset there's nothing I can do to get my children out

Wow...this school is very unstable they don't follow through on there curriculum at all for example they have a 100 book challenge your kid is supposed to be sent home with a book everyday to read but they have no library and don't send home books! Everything they try to do never happens they are supposed to have two teachers for k-2 however the teachers just up and quit without warning and they just borrow another teacher to help out.The teachers call off a lot so there's always subs again no stability! They have an after school program in which the clubs that you sign your kid up for they don't really get to do its just a bunch of stuff on paper that sounds good but is never followed through! The lady at the front desk is nice and so is the vice principal however the school lacks serious structure! My child has to stay here for a year but after this she will not be going back !!I think last year the school was rated a 3 sadly this year they are rated a 1 and I can see why! Homework is given nothing is explained! Kids are bullied there sometimes the parents aren't notified cops have been there several times bc of angry parents feeling there kid is mistreated.

DCPA has gone through alot of changes since the dismissal of Ms. Robertson but has made great strides in their leadership, academic programs & teachers. Ms. Dennis is a strong leader. She cares about the scholars, teachers & DCPA. She is backed by strong a supporting staff . Despite those that are against the schools success. I believe it will continue on to be a very successful school for its current scholars and future scholars. They have my support 100%. LETS GO DCPA!

not the best, but not the worst. i think majority of the parents that send their children to DCPA think the word "charter" entill some magical educational environment, this isnt the case here. DCPA underwent a lot of administrative changes when the founding principal Nita was discharged. since they havent been able to get it together. lots of changes and none for the better. once a FIRM CONSISTENT leader gets in place the school has great potential. my child went there for 2 years. she did learn and excel but in addition to there standards, i work with her at home to reinforce learning. u\she now attends public and is excelling there as well. there isnt any administravtive changes and the communication with the public school is phenomenal! there is no magic school-learning starts at home.

This is one of the worst charter school in Delaware. This is my oldest daughters third year here and I am taking her and my twins out today!!! It was good when Ms. Robertson was there she was a thorough principal but when they kick her out and fired her right in the beginning of the school year last year everything went downhill. Mr. Johnson is the most disrespectful principal I have ever met. He is not professional and talks down to students, staff and parents in front of people. He is totally unorganized and most of the teachers do not care . Anytime you walk into one of the classrooms it is a sure bet that you will see kids running around and total chaos. To get this school to give you feedback on anything is almost impossible...............It is sad because this school started off so well. I am hoping that they either shut this school down or get almost all new faculty including the principal. There are children bullying, using abusive language totally untamed. It is so sad. Please do not trust the test scores on how good the school is because it is simply NOT. I BEG any parent not to send their child there.
All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness,
which includes important information like contact details and test scores.
It’s up to the school community to take the next steps.
As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families
by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers.
As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs,
and more with an Official school profile.
The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL
as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo,
and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
