My family is being relocated to the panhandle of Florida. We are looking in the Crestview, Niceville and Freeport area. We need a friendly city with great schools. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi mitchh,

Make good use of the GreatSchools Find a School feature. Type in the city and state, and you can read parent reviews, compare test scores, and get a good idea of which areas you want to live in.

Then talk to a real estate agent about neighborhoods that have the amenities you're looking for.

Good luck with your move!

Niceville has excellent schools! I graduated from Niceville High 15 years ago and would love for my own children to attend the schools in that town. Crestview would probably be ok, but not as good. I personally wouldn't live in Freeport, although it is probably a lot different now.

We lived in that area for 13 yrs in Navarre, and I agree with sdiaz05 that Niceville is the best choice for schools. Crestview schools are ok, but I don't care for the area. I would just avoid Freeport.
