Would they need to do a make-up test or is this really more to measure the progress of the school?

Hi harryandjules,

That's a great question to ask the school directly. Typically, they do make up tests for standardized testing. While the schools use the results to show their ability to teach, they also use the individual results to point out where your child is academically.

Good luck.

Every school district has a "testing window" during which they must complete all testing. If a student is absent before the end of the testing window, the tests are made up in small group settings. If, however, a student is absent and doesn't return until after the testing window closes, the tests cannot be made up. This is especially problematic because the tests are given in parts and if the student is present for part one, but absent for part two and doesn't return to school until testing is over, the incomplete problems are counted as wrong answers and the child's score looks really low.
