We live in Seoul,Korea and we're going to move Davis in next March for one year.
We got J2 visa and we're searching for my two sons's schools(first one is 6th grade and have to go to middle school in next August- my second one is 3rd grade.)
Could you recommend good place to live with two children?
I have no idea about Davis. Thanks in advance.

Yes, TeacherParent, Davis is in Northern California between San Francisco and Sacramento. It's home to a well regarded University of California.

Since you're unfamiliar with the area and traffic could be an issue, I definitely suggest talking to the HR department where you or your spouse will be working. They will be an excellent resource to connect you with coworkers with kids the age of yours and they can give you input on various communities.
Too, speak with a real estate professional. They're well versed in both neighborhoods, amenities that people expect (shopping, parks, schools), and they can help with rentals as well as home purchasing.

I lived also in Seoul as well for four years. I also lived in Sacramento, California (near Davis, CA) and I know these areas very well. Davis is a great community. The nearest large city is San Fransisco, although you can also drive to downtown Sacramento (there is a zoo there for the kids), and there are many things you can do with your family while you live there for a year. You can go to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, the Redwood Forest, Los Angeles, Pebble Beach, Carmel... there are many opportunities for you.
Davis public schools are excellent as is the community. You should have no problems living there. good luck! 81734
