Where do I start????

I'm a grandmother of a 3 1/2 year old that will be 4 in July. She's currently attending an in-home daycare, but I'm not very pleased with the school director. Having been out of the loop of education for quite some time and now finding myself probably going to be a full-time guardian, I don't know the timeing of head-start vs. kindergarten and even what to use as a criteria to find schools to send my grand daughter to. We live on the west side and i work in Dearborn. where do I start????

You can find information on Head Starts in your area by going online and typing your city and the word HeadStart. You can also find the income requirements and see if you qualify.
If you do not, and you want to look for preschools, GreatSchools has a wonderful series of articles and a preschool finder built in here: http://www.greatschools.org/preschool/ You can read about different educational philosophies and read parent reviews on individual preschools so you will be able to narrow down your search to tour only a few schools.
