I am looking at a 10 rated school Bennet Elementary in Bellevue(I understand this may not be the best approach- but I have to start somewhere)
but the assigned schools for middle and highschools dont seem rated well at all.
What is the reason ?
where can I find info about what elementary schools feed in to what middle and high schools in Bellevue and Redmond School districts

Hi sashasasha, and welcome to GreatSchools Parent Community.

You're right not to simply go by the numbers, but you're right it's a great place to start. Here's an article on assessing schools: http://www.greatschools.org/how-to-assess-a-school.topic?content=5068

Middle schools and high schools do seem to be a time of transition. Even after great elementary schools there's a slight (or not so slight) drop. School districts are always trying to figure it out If your students are closer to middle school age, you might want to position yourself for a great middle school even if the elementary school is a little less desirable.

Good luck, and let us know what happens.
