I went to this school from 5-8th grade. I am currently a freshman in the IB program at Eastside High School. This school did not prepare me for the amount of homework that I would have in the IB program. Also, beause of the small enviroment, middle school drama was ten times worse. On the bright side, the teachers are amazing and they care for each student individually. They do their best to understand the student and to give them potential.

I love it because it's multiculturally aware, and based on values and life skills. The projects and fairs were inspiring and enlivening. My daughter is in college now, but still talks about the Multicultual Fair and the Values Expo. The Values Expo was amazing. Each student chose a service to the community. There were many choices. The students were able to 'make a difference' in their communities and gain an awareness of how their contributions made a diffference. Students served on teen court, did relays for cancer, cleaned up the environment, adopted an elder, volunteered at animal shelters, raised money for charity and so much more. They interviewed people who were engaged in the service and it all culminated in presentations for the parents at the Values Expo. There was entertainment provided following the same theme. My daughter left ALC with a better understanding of the world around her, close relationships with her teachers, and life-long friends.

I am currently a Para-Professional teacher's assistant at the Learning Center and love working there. My daughter is now thriving in the sixth grade with teachers who really care about her welfare and well-being. Our school is unique in it's personalized tightly knit atmosphere and outstanding dedication to students and community bonding.

Brilliant faculty, sensitive and logical administration, engaged parents, and talented students make this a can't-lose situation. Best environment I've ever seen for gifted kids who need support and structure to maximize their potential.

My son is in his second year at ALC and we absolutely love it! The teachers are awesome, the lunches are healthy as well as tasty, and the academic programs leave nothing out. He especially enjoys the science club held every Tuesday after school. They even started an affordable after school program for those who need it. We couldn't ask for a better school!

The teachers really do care about the students. The Principal is fair and kind, and the whole staff are exceptional people. The lunches are wonderful, and I am very glad that I have sent my kids here. I am glad that they have the opportunity to be in a school setting like Alachua Learning Center.

My son has been attending the Alachua Learning Center for 3 years and really has blossomed in their small, caring and attentive environment. The school has a small student to teacher ratio and because of this are able to give their students specialized attention. So, when my daughter was ready for kindergarten I was happy that she would be able to attend the Alachua Learning center. Now both my kids are thriving in school. We all especially enjoy the small size of the school. My kids and I know teachers and staff by name and they know us and as we walk to in fro to our different classes we are greeted everyday by smiling, friendly, familiar faces.
