My daughter started Kindergarden this year. I was very nervous, but Alva Elementary has made me feel at ease. This is a small town country school. They really focus on learning and also teaching responsibilities. I am very happy we are at Alva Elementary and now look forward to my another daughter to attend.

I love alva! The best school in lee county by far. They also have the best staff. They care about the kids! My daughter has been at alva since pre-k and is now in 3ed. She loves going to school every day! Keep up the good work it shows! -hannah c.

Alva is a small school. It has a good reputation for high f-cat scores. However, the high volume of new teachers each year can make it difficult for the parent to feel at ease about the child's education. Parents are really involved and the office personel know you and your child on a first name basis.

Alva Elementary is a great small school. With about 3classes in kindergarten and rising, kids are able to get one on one attention. This is an older school with the middle school attached. Both elementary and middle share cafeteria staff but have separate dining halls. The middle school is adjacent to the elementary school. As an A rated school, this school prides itself on being a small school with that small home town feeling. PE is held every day outside as there is no indoor gym. There are computers in each classroom as well as a computer lab, but there is no set time for use. The school is very much into concentrating on the basics and not on much of the extras. Math, reading and writing is really all they concentrate on. Only a few extra curricular activities are available, one odd but fun one is clogging: those noisy shoes.

The school is an excellent school for my children. I am very happy with it. It is a small school so everyone knows all the kids names and which ones to watch. We have a really involved PTO with many parents volunteering their time. The teachers are dedicated to doing what is right with the students.
