I've had children in this school for the last 6 years. We have been more than pleased! The office staff is always friendly and very helpful! The principal is not the greatest- has a foot out the door for retirement. But if you push him, you'll get the result you are looking for. Mrs. Street (kindergarten) is by far the absolute best teacher there! Mrs. Roberts (1st grade) comes in a close second. The only teacher we had trouble with was Mrs. Weiss. Not that she's not a good teacher, was just not a good fit for one of our children. Dr. Suther, with my request, quickly moved my child to a different teacher. We do wish they would improve the look of the school. But that's really the only negative. We have unfortunately moved into Citrus school area. So we will greatly miss all the teachers and staff. Overall an outstanding school for your children!!!
My children have been going to this school for the past 4 years I thought at first it was a good school but come to find out its not. I have talked with lots of other parents & they have told me all kinds of things that they see go on at the school that they are not happy with I have seen the kids being bullied by other children even kids fighting & getting away with it the principal does not do anything with the kids the assistant principal acts so nice & will always tell you she will handle the problems but never does she is very fake, the office staff they talk behind your back & have no respect for anyone the teachers i would say that 70% of them are awesome but the rest be aware.when your children come home & tell you something believe them & always try to eat lunch with your child or help out in the class for a few hours & you will see what goes on i did That's why I moved over the summer just so my children do not have to go back to that school for 2011-2012 school year.
My children have been attending this school for 5 years and I am so angered by what is being said about our school! We love this school and the teachers. First of all...regarding kids being dragged through the halls.... Clarcona has two classrooms that allow children with severe behavior problems to attend school. These children would not otherwise be able to attend public schools as they are a danger to other students and even the teachers. However, Clarcona has specially trained staff to deal with these students! When the students display out of control behavior, it does sometimes require that they be restrained or removed to a safer area. Again, the staff have been specifically trained to pull, restrain, and with hold these children and do so by not harming them!! Now...regarding the laps... they are made to do this only during their recess! And yes, if a student is bad or does not complete their classwork, the teacher has every right to take some of their recess away! We cannot allow students to just do as they please and then expect no consequences. It is time for parents to teach their children to take responsibility and be accountable for their actions!!!
this school is very bad I have seen the staff drag kids down the hallways and I found a video recently on youtube being hurt by the lady who works in the office .My son has been bullied and they have done nothing to stop it.And when they dont do there work they walk laps. This is an elementary school how are they learning when they have to walk laps?Dont get me wrong there are a few good teachers there but most most of the teachers and staff should not be working with young children.
I have two of my kids that attend this school. I am very happy with the overall staff. The teachers are great and very supportive. The principle and office staffs are awesome and very helpful. I will recommend this school to anyone.
my sister goes to this school and the teacher throws work at them to keep them busy and more than half of the papers don't even get a grade. And the office people are very rude they look at you like what the ****. Although my sister does make good grdes there.
My child attends kindergarten. He absolutely loves his teacher. I have visited the classroom and it is very well organized. The teacher is very engaging and is easy to reach via email or phone. I thought my child would have difficulty adjusting to school, but he has done very well thus far. He enjoys doing his homework!
My child went to this school for one year and we couldn't get her out of the fast enough! Her teacher was horrible. She learned absolutely nothing that year. The teacher had no control over the class. It was wild every time I was there. The office staff was horrible. They treated you like you were an alien with with 3 heads when you would come into the office they were rude. The worst school I have ever been in and having the unfortunate circumstance of moving often, I have been quite a few!!
My child has gone to this school since 1st grade and is now in 4th grade. Everyone I've met over the past years has always been enthusiastic. The school is back to being an A school again and I see the constant improvement despite cutbacks. I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone.
We have been very happy with Clarcona Elementary. Our son has been there 3 years and each year he's had a teacher that goes above and beyond. The school could use some cosmetic work, but it is an older school and somewhat to be expected. The office staff is always friendly and willing to help us in any situation. Even the principal got involved (along with the school counselor)to assist us with some emotional problems our son was having. We're quite pleased overall and would recommend this school to any parent.
