Principle was horrible as well as the teacher we had. Teacher said my child was below level. I find this funny since my child now attends a Private School and makes honor roll. My child was scared to go to class. No child should feel this way. If you have an option don't send your kid to this school. You will regret it. I'd add more but the rules for posting ads don't allow me to say what I really want to say. Good luck.
Poor leadership at Clay Springs. School is lead by a principal that is not "parent" friendly. Negative atmosphere throughout the school
I think Clay Springs is a great school. The teachers really support reading, and seem to truly care about their students. I give this school an A rating in my book!
I think Clay Springs is a great school. They never should have layied off Mrs. Owings. She was a great teacher to my child. she was always nice and funny to all her students!
My child has been in this school for 2 years and I feel the teachers don't take the time with the children as needed and I feel that as long as it is an 'A' school they won't because that's what they are really concerned about.
My son had a wonderful experience in his six years at Clay Springs Elementary. From Ms. Brown in Pre-K through fifth grade, the school has terrific teachers who truly care about the students. I just love the addition of the Science Lab and Mrs. Eages, the science teacher.
Terrible teaching skills- so far behind, my child wasn't being taught half the stuff my friends kids were at other elementary schools- had to pull her out and move to a new school and get a tutor to play catch up.
Clay Springs is an excellent school with outstanding administrative and teacher support. The community strongly supports the new bilingual program and the school earned another grade of 'A' even with the non-English speakers. I would not want my kids to be anywhere else!
My daughter went here in kindergarten and 1st grade. She passed 1st grade with the 'improvement plan'. The next year we moved to a different school and she has been honor roll ever since. I don't believe the teachers take the time they should with these children
I feel that Clay Springs would be a great school if the principal would let the parents have more involvement at this school. It is a good school but there is too much teacher turnover which I think is due to the lack of management skills of the principal. The teachers are wonderful. Many great ideas that would enrich our students does not get done because the principal does not support these ideas.
Clay Springs has steadily gone down the tube, especially with the HUGE influx of non-english speaking kids. The FCAT for 3rd grade reveals a 21% drop in reading, and a 7% drop in math. In fact, all scores were lower with the exception of 5th grade math. Now, the school's on track to be as sorry as Lovell, Dream Lake, or Apopka. So, 'No Child was left behind,' they spread the denial of a good education unilaterally across the grades...so they're all behind!
Clay Springs so far is a great school, we moved here 2005 from NYC and what a difference in the environment and the caring attitude of all the staff, I'm amazed. It's too early for me to tell if anything needs change or needs to be added. But for now, I do give it an 'A'. I've participated as an addition and helped out with the book sale during last year. Parent involvement is crucial in many areas for the school and students benefit.
Overall, Clay Springs is a good school. Some flaws here and there. The school is clean and so far very safe. My child has been there for six years and I have been a volunteer there also. The school has lost some magnificent teachers and it has been very hard to replace them. I think they are behind in music, science and extra curricular activities.
Clay Springs is a great school with a pleasant atmosphere! Music, computers media library and more are all part of the child's day!
Clay Springs is an awesome school. Although my daughter is repeating kindergarten, I know it is in her best intrest. Her teacher was so supportive. My only frustration is the new 'system' on picking her up from school. It has been 2 weeks and not one day have I not waited more than 40 min. She is a car rider. I like the idea of the name tags in the window for safety. I don't like not being able to park in the parking lot and walking to pick her up. I, as many other parents, take a lunch break to pick our children up. I'am hoping the school will see that this 'system' is not effective.
I am pleased with Clay Springs for the most part.My son is repeating 1st grade and I too have issues with special needs.Testing is a very long process and he is repeating first grade this year due to reading skills. I believe it for the best but I fell if there was a tutoring program after school that would help so much. I know other elementry schools provide one. Once the testing was completed he was put on a program but I really do not see the results of it. I now am faced with spending $25-$40 a hour for extra help! I love his teacher but the evaluation staff and testing needs attention! I feel as if they give you the run around and never really give you a answer or just give you some computer sites for your child. I did not feel as if they cared!
Very good school with good programs avaliable. My concerns rested in the area for children with special needs.
Both of my daughters have gone to Clay Springs and it has been an excellent school. The teachers have been outstanding, the school is clean and orderly and it's obvious when you drive up and see the children as well as the parents that it is a very positive environment for the children.
