Great school with a faculty and staff who care about the achievement of the students. The Coastal Sciences program provides a hands-on approach to learning. Parent are invited to be involved in every activity throughout the building. The communication network is the best I have seen at any school.

my son is about to enter the 8th grade at mayport. we have been very pleased with the teachers, administration and curriculum at Mayport. He has been in advanced classes, which is a real PLUS. The size of the school was the main draw for me (much smaller than our neighborhood school) and then the coastal science magnet portion made it a total package. My son has been allowed to truly develop his personality as the teachers know the students as individuals and not just a number in the classroom!

I love Mayport Middle, it's very diverse and the environment is safe. My son was there for 2 years and only left because I received new orders. He was in advanced classes and the curriculum is very challenging, and there's a lot of activities after school.

I am a little shocked to see Mayport Middle as a 4. Being a military spouse and teacher, this is the best Middle School that I have had experience with. Their transitioning programs for the students are above and beyond expectations. The staff that have been a part of my daughter's learning experience have been outstanding. There is open communication between teacher and parent, as well as guidance and administration. I am thrilled that we have one more year before our next transfer. My son will have the chance to enter sixth grade here at Mayport!

I love Mayport, and when i complete my final year at this school I will be devastated to have to leave. Great teachers have successfully made my FCAT scores excel. I'm in classes that have between 14 to 21 students in a class, so the teachers are there whenever I need help. There are multiple programs and after-school activities that offer me help with homework or provide me with tutoring. Yes, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else but Mayport Middle School. Go Sharks!

I love that the Mayport Middle School administration makes themselves available to students and parents, that they listen and are helpful and supportive. I love that there are teachers at Mayport that get my children excited about learning and who encourage them to push themselves, to strive not only to do what is expected, but more. I love that my children look forward to school.

Mayport Middle is the 'diamond in the rough'. I loved working there. From the teachers to the awesome SRO (Officer Catir), Mayport is the best. Go Sharks!

It is a very caring school that promotes friendship and diversity and actively discourages bullying and snobbishness.

I am in my 29th year on staff and it is my home away from home with a supportive family atmosphere

Our school is a small but close-knit learning community that works very hard to create a safe and positive educational atmosphere for all students who enter our halls.

My husband, daughter and I really like MMS. It's a relatively small school which makes it a comfortable, manageable community. The teachers and administrators care about the kids. They try so hard to help the kids in many ways. We are glad are daughter goes to MMS.

My grandaughter had her choice of Middle Schools and chose Mayprot Middle. I am a member of the PTA and volunteer. The teachers and staff are excelllent and love what they do and pass that onto the kids. It is a wonderful school and she is having a great experience. Thank You Mayprot!

Mayport Middle is the perfect choice for our child and for our family. Our principal has high standards and cares about the students, as do the teachers. We are finding it to be a wonderful middle school experience.

I have had three children (white, non-navy) go through this school and it has been an EXCELLENT school for my family. My children were accepted into Stanton IB from Mayport and the small class size, beautiful campus and caring, highly prepared teachers are all to their credit. I wish I had more children to send here!

As a parent of a student at mayport, I find that it can become something with more parental involvement and I have seen great changes since my son entered Mayport. There is a wonderful PTA and the teachers are so dedicated as a group. I am excited about all the parents getting involved and there is even an opportunity for dads to come and help out!! Interested parents should attend the PTA meetings and check out the website!!

I have had 2 of my daughters at Mayport Middle school. My oldest is in 9th grade at Fletcher High School this year and is in Ap and honors classes. She is doing wonderfully, her grades are good and she is even participating in school activities. Mayport played a key roll in making sure she was ready for high school! I have another daughter who is in 8th grade at Mayport. She is involved in their pre-AP classes. Both of my daughters love Mayport they have each met some very nice girls to be friends with and i hope they can remain friends with these girls in high school (2 of them are Navy and have to transfer so we will miss them). The teachers and Staff are always welcoming to me when I come to visit or volunteer and i often leave the school with a smile.

I have a problem with the negative post from today. I have a 'white non-navy' daughter that attends MMS and is loving every minute of it. She has very diverse friends from MMS just like she will in the world. I have a feeling that the negative post came from a child not a parent and probably one that does not like the discipline that the principle hold the students accountable for.

Mayport Middle is a hidden gem at the beaches. My husband and I are professionals and we have checked out all the other schools through Magnet Mania. We chose to send our two children to Mayport because of the academic rigor and it fits our lifestyle. (We were not willing to wake at dawn each day so our children could commute downtown.) We are pleased with the rigor in the curriculum, and the leadership that our new principal (formerly in charge of Fletcher High's AP program) has demonstrated in preparing students for AP courses in high school.
