wonderful school - like a liberal arts college in its depth, from science to art to sports. spirit of cooperation seems to be well taught and observed, as well. plus great parental involvement very pleased parent
I have very mixed opinions about the school. My son has some teachers who get back to me promptly and are very available, but he has others who will only get back to me after multiple requests when I have had to bump up the issue to my son's dean. I don't understand how the administration lets the poor teachers stay, and it must be disheartening for the teachers who do a good job. My son had a teacher who would tell the students that their questions were "self explanatory" and would refuse to answer them. When I reported this, everyone I spoke to was well aware that the teacher did this and no one seemed to care. I would say it is the luck of the draw, if you get good teachers, you will have a great year. If you have bad teachers you'll have a bad year and your complaints will be met with indifference. Odds are you will have a combination of good and bad teachers and you will have a mixed year. This seems to be the situation for every kid we know at Boca High regardless of grade and the types of classes taken.
i transfered from Calvary Christian Academy to come to boca high 1 month in the school year, i immidiatly felt comfortable, and the staff and principle are great! i wish i would have started at boca my freshman year instead of waiting til my junior year to make a change. I LOVE this school!
Dr. McKee and his leadership team are very amazing educators and know each and every student at their school. VERY IMPRESSIVE.... They actually stop by every class every day.... They are out in the courtyard and are proactive.... I still can't believe I had the pleasure to work here...
I graduated in 2010, and am now a student at UF. I came back from China in 2007, and missed my freshman year. However I still had an awesome time at Boca High, the staff was friendly, the study environment superb, and the overall experience was fantastic. I will always miss coming in on LTM days still covered in sand from spearfishing. Good times, Good memories.
My son is finishing his senior year and Boca High School has been a wonderful experience throughout! The leadership of the Principal is the reason the school excels and the culture of the school promotes academic success along with "Bobcat" pride...
This is an amazing school all around...from academia to sports Boca Raton Community High School has it all!
Fabulous school directed by a caring principal and supported by his staff. My children attended Sophomore to Sr grades and have been challenged academically and taking 6 AP's/year.....in other words the school supports the academically inclined too. The school has the teachers and students to support the demand, unlike 2 other schools we visited before we settled into the neighborhood.
Boca High has been a great experience for my son. He is a freshman. The school vibe is very positive, and focused on the students, their successes, and learning. The kids are rewarded for great grades, and the athletic events are well attended. The principal is seemingly everywhere, classrooms and nightime games/concerts etc. My son says he is working really hard, which I secretly love. His teachers are very professional and responsive. There are good programs for kids with disablities, and also the top AP classes. There is a boy with autism on the cross country team, and he is encouraged by his team mates and the school. I love that. I heard last year they had Harvard and MIT acceptances. I am thrilled with this school, and think this school is one of the reasons people want to move in this district.
Awesome school! from the principal, the teachers, the sports teams, the band, the clubs, the activities etc... This school rules!
My student is a Junior and I have had a bad experience with this school. Some teachers do care, but there are too many there who are just there to complete their career so they can retire with their pension and no longer care if the kids 'get' what they are teaching or not. Then they have a discipline progam called 'ISS' where if kids are late for their class, the sit in the cafeteria instead of going to that class. instead of something they would really dislike i.e. staying after school, helping clean up the school grounds, etc). Sometimes they have to stay in ISS an entire day and are told to get the work they are missing from the teachers to do during ISS, but when they as, the teachers can't because they don't know how far they will get that day to know what work to give them.
I love it, I'm a freshman and it's awesome here. Everything is great, the school is so big your free to be yourself
I am a sophomore here. It is such a great school. The STEM program lets you take classes that you wouldn't be able to in other schools. The teachers are very experienced and are always available when help is needed. Dr. McKee is the best principal ever and he and the deans go around the school every period checking the classes. There are a lot of sports and clubs and it's a great environment. Plus, we don't have to pay for AP exams and we get good prizes for getting good grades and test scores.
The 'Golden School!' My son is a freshman at Boca High! I have nothing but praises!!! I am thrilled with both the teachers and the principal! My son's teachers know exactly who he is and what his strengths are. In a school of this size, that is pretty amazing! I am also thrilled with the STEM program! It is a challenging and rewarding program. My son felt completely prepared for the AP exams he took this spring. I must add that I am also impressed with the attitude of the students toward the school and the principal. It is incredible to hear that students appreciate all that the faculty and staff do for them. That is a wonderful reflection of all that is happening at Boca Raton Community High School! Way to go, Bobcats!!!!
I went to this school and loved it! The principal and all of the teachers were great. I recommend this school for everyone
i went to that school my fresh and sophmore year, they have great teachers, and the principle is great person. All they want is for you to do your best in the standard testes that way you can get into a good college. I'll would recomend anybody to go to that school.
