ADVANCED

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I have attended this school all three years and honestly have learned nothing from it. Most of the teachers talk about themselves, and waste your class time SPECIALLY the "Language Arts" or English teachers. This school is also a really hard school to start off as a new student mainly because its so obnoxiously packed with kids. Honestly, this school may be a 10 or an A++ school but I wouldn't recommend it, also this school is FULL of drugs (at least the years I attended which was from 2010-2013). Not just drugs, but because Boca is classified as a "rich" person city, this school is full of snobs that act "ghetto" and smoke to get attention. When it comes to bullying, I never got bullied but I've seen it happen, except if you're a 6th grader you have greater chances of getting bullied by an upperclassman. And if you don't wear nice clothes and you DONT have a jansport slim backpack or vans, you will also be bullied. Overall, this school was alright... But I would certainly NOT recommend it!

By far the worst school I've ever been to. Many people complain about bullying, when in reality, that is not the school's biggest problem! I spent a little over two years as a student at this school and I've seen unspeakable horrors. I came in as a straight A, well-behaved, honor student, but Omni really changed me. Of all the teachers I had, three were good, eight were awful, and the other few were neutral. The worst part about the staff is that they focus on nearly-harmless name calling or small arguments, ignoring the real issues. They turn a blind eye to major problems and try to hide them away, because the school's only interest is FCAT scores. So many kids get held back, so there are even some sixteen-year-olds there. The staff can be very disrespectful to parents and even more so to students. My parents regret the decision to let me attend Omni more than anything else they've ever done, and I can't say i blame them. We were attracted to the good ratings, but clearly that is not a reliable method of choosing a good school. Horrible, horrible school. Please spare yourself the trouble of putting yourself through the same awful experience that I went through.

Omni is a great school. My son is in seventh grade and is constantly challenged, especially in his math and English classes. The teachers have high expectations and do a great job in responding to my concerns.

I was very disappointed with this school. It enjoyed a good reputation, but the teachers did not do an effective job with my son. My son had the potential to excel and he fell through the cracks achieving below average performance. To make matters worse, the administration did nothing about it even after several conferences. I think that palm beach county needs to address the administration staffing on the future of this school.

I am very sad as to my child having to deal with all the bullying this school has. Staff is not to helpful. Teachers are sometimes unaware of what is going on in the classroom. The worst 2 years of my childs life was here at Omni! Too many kids and not enough awareness!

I chose this school zone due to the overall ratings. I am extremely disappointed in the teachers. Out of 6 teachers only 2 are good. The 4 that are lacking speak horribly to the students. One gives their personal opinion on ethnicity, religion and politics...As an educator shouldn't you stay neutral and just state the facts and let the students make their own decision? The staff in the student service department talk to the kids like they are lower than low. The 4 poor teachers I am speaking about also speak horribly to the students. How do you expect the students to be respectful when all of you teachers are acting like Neanderthals? Very disappointed in the educators and administration. Maybe they should take a course on social skills and courtesy.

After having attended this school for 3 years, I think that this is a good school. Nothing more, nothing less. I admit that this school, with over 1500 students, is grossly overpopulated. It has many excellent teachers, though, and a plethora of academic opportunities, along with very good elective programs. The band is one of the best in the entire state, with and amazing conductor. I started sixth grade not able to tell a saxophone from a trumpet, and after a year I was a talented saxophonist, able to play complex solos and sight read with ease. It has many very gifted students who are able to excel at academics at this school. However, the pros end there. I was subject to terrible bullying throughout my time being there, with the teachers and principle doing little to nothing about it. The majority of the children there do not care about their education, and write graffitti and bully other students just for the hell of it. This is an issue with most public school, I understand, so this is probably still better than most of the other "public" middle schools in the district. Overall, while I wouldn't recommend this school, I wouldn't say it is terrible.

This is a bad school: - Teachers barely teach the concepts - The amount of homework is minimum - School priority is the FACT scores, actual learning is 2nd priority - Cafeteria food is bad I am looking at alternatives right now, but the private schools aren't that great either in this area. Anyway, this is Florida, where education is not a priority. Land of elderly and tourists.

Instead of always saying how we need to improve the schools how about someone just do it? My kids are all stuck in these FCAT driven institutions. Florida schools are still misappropriating funds and the direction in which education should be prioritized. All of our kids will be out of these over crowded schools before the education levels are improved. If I could move out of state I most certainly would. It is a disgrace how over crowed Omni School is . 1600 kids ....come on . The campuis needs a steam cleaning and is filthy . Finally, another principal? Where is the consistency? What are we showing our kids with all of these principals leaving after just a year. Look at last year with the multiple principal changes. What a shame.

We have a Child in 6th Grade at Omni and we couldn't be happier. We are very happy with the education she is receiving, as well as most of her teachers. Mr White the Guidance Counselor is terrific especially whenever there is a problem or issue. We had an issue recently and as far as we are concerned the Principal wanted nothing to do with this and we were told we needed to take it up with the AP. The New principal at this point needs to be reassigned to another school, because Omni is not for her. She wants no interaction with the parents nor the kids and puts it all on her staff. Our Daughter also is very happy at Omni and has made some great friends.

This is my child's second year here at OMNI middle school. She absolutely loves it her and so do I. The new principle is great, there are many parents who complain about their "concerns" but the truth of the matter is that the school is great and the teachers, staff, and principle are doing a fantastic job at educating our children and doing their best to keep them safe.

Omni middle school is a really awesome school so far. This is my son's first year here and I've heard mixed reviews but the negative feedback is appalling. The teachers and new principle have been nothing but great to my son. He actually likes going to school! Go Jaguars!

My child right now is attending Omni Middle school for her 2nd year. Her first year was a bit a rough but since the new principal joined the jaguar family this year, my daughter experience here has been much more enjoyable. I'd recommend this school to anyone looking for a safe place to send their children for education. Recently I've heard of people being unhappy with the new staff and principal. Without any merit people complain about this change. I have spoken to the new principal myself and I have to say that she seems very passionate about her job and really cares for the students. Her past endeavors speak plenty enough for her professionalism and character. The teachers at this school have been very helpful and have answered any questions and concerns I have had about my daughter and her education. Go Jaguars!

my son is in the 6th grade and is in advanced classes and an honors class. my only complaints are that I think car line should be more controlled at the drop off point so it is not a free for all. I always fear an accident . Also, the school is too big. Boca has grown so much over the years and they desperately need another middle school.

As a parent of an 8th grader I am happy to see a principal in place who not only wants the best academically for the students, but is concerned about their general well being. Mrs. Elfe clearly understands that the middle school years are difficult ones, and is a caring and compassionate administrator. She draws that fine line between setting appropriate limits and still allowing them to be children. We will miss her next year.

Last year was our son's first year at Omni and it was not a good one because of the constant bullying. We must say, though, that EVERY single time we complained, administration ALWAYS acted promptly to put a stop to whatever was happening. This year my son is not having any problems, thank God, so he is much happier. He loves his teachers and has made good friends. We never had any complaints about the quality of education he was getting. His teachers all did a great job, as far as we are concerned ( we are both educators ourselves). All of his teachers have always been there for my son, even though teaching conditions nowadays are not easy. We do believe that our son is getting a good education. Is the school perfect? No, but every single school you go to will have some problems ( even the expensive ones). I would recommend Omni to anyone who asked

I have had two children that have had the opportunity to go to Omni Middle and have been more than pleased. Two different kids and two different experiences, but both very good. The teachers are helpful and supportive and the administration has been involved and caring. The PTSA is also a big part of the success at Omni. I've had the pleasure of knowing the current principal from my kids' elementary school and can tell you that she listens to parents and makes decisions that are in the students interests both academically and socially when needed. My older son is now a Senior at Spanish River and can directly point to his years at Omni as part of the reason for his success in school now. My kids have also been involved with the athletics at the school. This year several of my son's teachers made it a point to come to his baseball games just to show support. Kudos to those teachers that find the time to care even after the school day is over!

Its my sons first year at Omni, its been an awful experience. There is a lot of issues with bullying. I've come to learn that Omni has a horrible overcrowding issue, which allows the students freedoms that are not offered in other environments . Not enough security to oversee necessary problems. I witnessed one of Omni's staff being TOTALLY disrespectful to a parent, who barely spoke English and was struggling to converse - it was over his sons uniform. Which had a small plaid pattern on his shorts, not solid, and the child was dismissed from school. Interesting to me, being that when my son was harassed for 2 months by a student with a long history of issues, I spoke with the assistant principal on numerous occasions, nothing was done. In addition, there are a lot of kids that are "left back"which speaks for itself about the education of these students. If we had it all to do over again, I would have NEVER sent my child to Omni. We are currently looking into other options. Whatever I heard about the reputation of palm beach county school, is 100 percent accurate! Its terriblel!

My son just started middle school this year and I must say we were worried about the transition from Del Prado Elementary. We heard there would be lots of homework and there are always the fears regarding bullying. He is in the gifted program and loves it. Everyone of his friends loves it, too. He hasn't seen any bullying, likes his teachers, and isn't spending any more time on homework than would be expected of middle school (less than an hour a night). I have been pleasantly surprised by this GREAT school.

I have an 8th grade student at Omni and have been extremely pleased with the classes and extracurricular activities. The variety of class levels (regular, advanced, and gifted) seem to offer a right fit for him depending on each specific class. I find the teachers to be very receptive to communication and very organized in posting the grades and curriculum on edline.

As a parent of a 6th grade student at Omni I can tell you that the transition from Elementary to Middle has been fantastic. The Administration, Teachers, Staff and PTA are all very active and genuinely care about the school/students. PTA is open and inviting to new parents. Notifications are emailed every week with upcoming events and volunteers opportunities. Mrs. Elfe- the new Principal is involved with the school, keeps an eye on the kids and she is making positive changes. The teachers are open with communication and are happy to help the students. I'm also happy to say that my kid has NOT had any issues with bullies- which is amazing in middle school (i have one in HS so I've been through this before). I don't have any safety concerns when I drop off my child- teachers and administration are always visible during drop off and pick up. The school also offers several sports and clubs to keep the kids busy. The only negative would be the amount of time spent on car line during pick up but that happens at all schools. Overall, this school year is going very well and we are so happy to be a part of Omni. Thank you to the entire Omni staff and PTA.

This school is a great school. It has been rated the best middle school in the county, and it is definitely my favorite. I'm in the gifted program, our teachers are wonderful (I wasn't always in the gifted program, and even then, the teachers were great.) They are very involved, and many of the teachers also help administration. The teachers I have look at fun ways to teach, and while every school has some bad teachers; ours has more good ones!

My child just transferred to Omni from out of state. She is not being challenged academically, and the kids seem to do what ever they want in class including refusing to participates Mine spent yesterday showing a friend party dresses online! The bathrooms are filthy and this seems to be an accepted state to the administration. The campus seems derelict, and the library is depressing. I expected more and am disappointed I did such a poor job in selecting a school. I just relied on ratings which was a big mistake.

I do not like this school at all. This is my first year here, and it hasnt even been a whole semester and i absolutely hate it here. It barely has a roof, so u will sweat alot if u go to this school. Its just overall the worse school i have been to. Although i have been doing better in math, but thanks to my science teacher, my grades in science have dropped completely. Omni has serious problems. I moved to Boca from out of state a few years ago and attended Omni for only 8th grade. The middle school I previously attended was great, and I had high expectations for Omni. Unfortunately, I was incredibly disappointed. The administration at Omni was horrible. It seemed to me like it was run like a low security prison which I thought was odd considering the students were good kids. It really was hard for me to get used to the obnoxious administration and the ridiculous uniforms. Basically, the only advice that I have is if you are considering transferring to Omni from another middle school you like, don't do it, you will be disappointed. If you have never been to another middle school you will probably think Omni is ok.

My child has came to this school from Verde Elementary. Now going into 7th grade. I am extemely frustrated and outraged at the lack of teacher to parent communication that I have experienced. Unfortunately, when you have to correct an issue with the staff or office you are obligated to deal with people who have no respect for anyone. They are extremely disorganized when it comes to making corrections to records. We had to make 3 attempts in order to have am address change made to my childs record. I was forced to go in person in order to correct the matter. This is just one of the many problems that I have encountered with this school. Perhaps they should take some notes from Verde Elementary. They have exceptional ratings and reviews. Omnis new principal definitely has his work cut out for him. - Parent

My son currently attends Omni Middle School and is in 6th grade. Good points: Communication with school events via emailing parents through the Palm Beach County Edline Sytem is great. Most teachers are timely in posting student grades for parents to track through Edline. Bad points: It is VERY difficult for students to get back on track if they miss a day of school. Multiple teachers could not get missed work vs. make-up work straight. It would be VERY beneficial to both students and parents if the Omni Office Staff took a few 101 courses... like how not to act: arrogant, annoyed, confused, disturbed, or uptight. My son almost missed out playing sports because the office staff lost all his paperwork more than once. Dr. signature & notary done a total of 3 times! I personally feel students are treated more like numbers than individuals.

Its going to be my third year at omni and i admit its not an all 5 star school but its pretty good. They offer courses that make a student like me advance. The only class that i didnt learn that much and its probably because the teacher didnt teach well was math. In 6th grade i had straight A's in math then in 7th i had a D and it wasnt that i didnt try its just how the teacher teached. There isnt that many fights like some other reviews have said because mostly other school probably have more. In the time being that i have been there ive only heard of 3 fights. The food is good but not great, lets face it though its school food! If you dont like it then you should honestly bring your own food. Over all its a good school.

We moved to this specific area on the basis of Omni's A rating, but the reality is quite disappointing. The teachers are often absent and the subs do not teach. In reviewing the teacher's letters and work product, it often has grammatical and math errors. The level of challenge is low and the homework is often insufficient. The school has many rules, but they can be unreasonable, (for example, if a student is unknowingly dressed inconsistent with the dress code, they must stay in detention while they are given failing grades for tests missed). The principal is condescending in how he addresses parents. The physical plant is dirty and the food is not always edible. The students are not well controlled and there is frequent teasing and fights. This is not what we expected at all.

My son was in the ESE program and his experience with the teachers was great. Big time Kudos to Ms. Sinclair! They really motivated him to excel. The administration was unfortunately not as proactive or involved as the teachers. They allowed my son to continously be exposed to unsafe conditions. I had to intervene each and everytime and ensure follow-up and action was being taken to ensure his safety. Needless to say the School Police Officer was quite busy this past 05-06 school year. Overall, not a good experience from a safety and discipline perspective.

I was a parent of a 6-7th grader, I found the school to be, over crowded, rough kids, uninspired programs. limited arts and extracarricular.

The Omni Middle School gifted program is a very challenging one. The highly motivated, eager to learn child performs very well in this program. The teachers are very approachable and will answer your emails in a most timely fasion. Most post grades to edline on a regualar basis. Parent involvement is wonderful and rare for a middle school. The PTSA is astounding and the Principal backs it up 100%. The principal is up to date on current issues and is open to suggestions and concerns.

My daughter has been in Omni's gifted program for 3 years. She enjoyed it very much. They have a variety of electives that students can chose from. The gifted program has very helpful teachers and gave my daughter an enjoyable way to learn. Also, they had many levels of math on campus, so students can excel. My daughter learned to love the school and teachers.

Omni Middle School is an excellent school. My daughter is in the gifted program and has been there all three years of middle school. I highly recommend the school if you are moving to the area.

This school seems OK. My daughter is happier here, but I would say that the teachers don't put as much effort into working with the kids on raising their grades as her previous school. There are some minor discipline problems, but the administration deals with it appropriately.

This is the WORST school in Florida. Send your children here only if you want them to learn to hate school. Go to Omni...look in the bathroom...the conditions there pretty much sum up this whole school. Once you take away months of 'FCAT practice', movies with no educational value whatsoever, 'quiet time' or whatever else the 'teachers' call it, you'll discover that your child gets MAYBE 10 minutes of actual education in a week. If it's a good week. Omni Middle School is the epicenter of bad education and mismanagement in the state of Florida. And don't try to become involved as a parent; you're not welcome there.

This school is the worst school! My son had problems in this school and we talked to the principal and assistant principals and a lot more others and teachers and no one gave a care about anything. If I would rate this school as discipline and caring for students I would rate this an F. They dont care about our kids, they just want to get their money and be out and all those things about that we care about your children and stuff its not true!
