I really hope this school is excellent, we are moving from north Florida and my children are now attending a charter 10 school, I do not see recent reviews from this school, as a parent I will like to know how is the school doing during this 2013 year. any parents out there dare to comment?

This is our first year at Sunrise Park and it has been a wonderful school year for my son. His 4th grade teacher is fantastic as well as all specials teachers. His teacher cares deeply about the sucess of each studnet! We couldn't be happier!

Sunrise Park is a wonderful school. Administation is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The teachers are kind, caring and extremely qualified. I'll be sad to see my daughters leave for middle school. We have great memories at Sunrise Park.

I'm not really sure what the last review was talking about. The teachers at Sunrise Park went above and beyond the call of duty this past year even with the hectic departmentalization switch over. There were so many teachers taking time from their personal lives to help the children learn and understand the material from the curriculum (not just the middle kids). We have such a great group of teachers, general staff members and administrators. I'm proud to say my daughter will be graduating Sunrise Park next year with a great elementary education under her belt.

I feel that Sunrise Park used to be an exceptional school....that has become a mediocre one. The administration is running it like a business...very cold and not taking into account that we are supposed to be helping each and every child (regardless of ability) strive to be the best they can and learn and excel on their level. They are teaching to the middle kids, leaving out the advanced kids as well as the kids who need more help. It's a shame that the teachers are so consumed with what administration has them doing that it's not as enjoyable for them as it should be.

I feel that Sunrise Park is an average school and I am going to be changing schools next year. They have no communication between parents and teachers. Also security is very poor for children safety.

Boy do I ever miss this school. My kids attended school there for one year and then we moved 2 miles away and were forced to change schools. The teachers at Sunrise truly do care about their students and want them to succeed and they'll work with parents in order to accomplish this. Our kids currently go to Waters Edge and the teacher here should be ashamed at the way they are with the students who need help. Anyways, your the best Sunrise.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
