Grandview is a caring and supportive environment. The teachers and administration clearly love their students. All students are treated with respect. The curriculum includes project based learning, and many opportunities for success. The students are involved, spirited, and leaders.
English teachers teaching mathematics, administrators teaching mathematics and social studies. Faculty size in always shrinking and turnover among faculty is rampant. Most teachers have been there less than two-three years.
School has close to zero academic rigor. Quality of student has been spiraling downward and constant push for money. Anyone whose check clears, it seems, can get into the school. Headmaster is never around. No one really running the place. My children will be leaving after this year.
Administrators just so clueless and have no idea what is going on. Uninvolved.
Deceiving Innovation Program tries to pass off as IB or AP classes.
Faculty cross teaching is bizarre. For example, English teacher is actually teaching math classes.
Just a mess. Unchecked bullying as well.
No major college acceptances that one would expect from a prep school in many years. Seems like most graduates go to very small, private, unheard of colleges.
School also always asking for money. Facilities seem to be in decline as well.
Very sad to see such changes.
School is not very academic. Academics are very weak. Not much homework. Don't get the impression that many of teachers know what they are doing and the administrator even know less what is going on. Looking to move our child soon. Just not very challenging and concerned that my son is not being prepared well for the future.
Not quite what was sold to us.
