I pulled my son from charter scool and put him in BSES.I wish I would have put him in there from kindergarden. The staff is very friendly. They give my son the confidence and security that he needs to have a proper education. The class sizes are small so there is more one on one time. The AR reading program is outstanding. My son went from a 1.0 to a 3.0 in one semester. My son is a different child right from the start. He loves going to school now.He has never missed a day.He hates the weekends because it takes to long to get back to school. If your looking for a small school with excellent staff and a great education I would highly recommend BSES.

The person who gave this school a poor review is just an unhappy parent. My daughter has thrived in BSE. My son is starting next year and I am more than happy. As far as Mr. Short goes he is the one of the best people I have ever known. He loves that school and knows the name of every child in that school. I also happen to know from personal experience that we never turn down parental input. I wonder how many IPTO meeting this person attended

I too totally disagree with the first parent. My husband, our children and I have nothing but praise for BSES. From Mr. Short, his staff, the teachers, it feels like being with family.

The school has a comforting, small town feel, where the teachers and administrators show love and concern for the students. Meeting the educational needs of all students is a top priority. Students are given individual attention to their learning level and style. 'Specials' help provide a well rounded education with art, drama, music and PE. I coudn't be happier sending my daughter to BSE. She is happy and is receiving and excellent education.

We could not disagree more with the previous respondent. We have two children at BSES and we are very satisfied with the education they are receiving. After our first child spent a frustrating kindergarten year at Bonita Springs Charter, we interviewed principals and teachers at area schools and selected BSES as the most promising, and have not been disappointed. Mr. Short, the principal, has been immediately responsive to all of our concerns. All of the teachers and the staff know our children by name. Our bright and talented children get the levels of attention, challenge, and guidance they need, not just in the basics like math and English, but also in subjects like art, music, geography, and P.E.. We are very pleased with this school.

Academic performance of students seems to be on par with other area schools, but persistent lack of leadership and attention to safety of students supercedes all other positive attributes of this school. Music, art, and sports (and library time) are sporadically offered as 'specials' during the school week, but are below average in quality. Parent involvement is 'selectively' encouraged... those who express concerns are treated disrespectfully by principal and staff. Extreme lack of professionalism and confidentiality on the part of the principal. I would not recommend this school to anyone unless they are seeking an 'anything goes as long as it goes along with our way of doing things' elementary school experience.
