Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My grandson attend Citrus Cove since Kinder. I personally recommend the school. Safety and Security is very good. My only recommendation is that need to improve on the afternoon pick up of children's.

I have two children at Citrus Cove, both in the gifted program there and am more impressed with each year. Mrs. Green is a involved, fantastic prinicpal and strong administrator managing a team of amazing teachers, enthusiastic parents, and almost 1000 students. The PTA is dedicated and work with Mrs. Green to create spirit through their events. The office staff is helpful and friendly, knowing most parents on site and children by name. We love this school.

Very involved principal, friendly teachers and challenging curriculum. I've been pleased with my daughter's progress and how responsive people are to any issues or questions we have. I am especially pleased that the homework is reasonable and appropriate for the age group.

We just love this school. This is one of the best in Boynton Beach. My daughter feels it home because I try to make her feel home there. I am a very involved parent. I visit the school often, volunteer there few hours a month. I agree that there is very little parents involvement. I see what's going on there. It could be even better if parents would step up and be involved in their kids school. It's not just the school, teacher, principal and staff responsibility to give our kids a better education, parental involvement matters the most.

Wow! This school is a zoo! I have never in my life seen anything more unorganized. There are no buses so you have 900 cars pulling into a parking lot that holds maybe 50 cars. Parents (and anyone else off the street) are all through out the school to walk there children to classes with no security at all. Walking my children to class would be great if you can find a place to park. If not you are forced to let your child out of the car to fend for themselves. Its like dropping your 6 year old off at the zoo entrance telling them to go find the lions and don't talk to strangers. The car line takes over an hour to sit through! Parent involvement is literally unheard of. I have no idea why this school is rated a 9 unless its because they bus in kids that are in separate gifted classes. five kids are in my sons class for the 2nd time because they have repeated 3rd grade. At the "meet the teacher day" myself and one other mom showed up for it so goes to show how little parent involvement is.

This is a great school. Ever since Mrs. Green took over as principal, the school has focused more & more on learning. My daughter just graduated and I have a child now entering the 3rd grade so I've been here while Mrs Ashbury was in charge and now Mrs. Green. What a change!! The ratings from this school have gone up significantly ever since Mrs. Green became principal.

THis is a great school. My daughter who had trouble reading has catch up and is doing great thanks to her teacher Ms.Lamont and Babione. I just wish they would accept my son even though we are out of zone. Our zoned school is Rolling Green and as Spanish speakers I would for my son to learn English the proper way as my daughter is learning at Citrus Cove.

Not only do I see hard working and dilligent educators working well past required hours, I see teachers who care about the academic and emotional needs of the students. I see all of this through the eyes of my children who are comforted when they are sad, encouraged when something has been hard, and caring enough to look out for their overall well being. My children LOVE going to school because of the teachers. If you can't see that - you're obviously not at this school often. This school is an A+!!!

Something is missing in this school. I think a parent has to feel that their children are in a nice environment when they go to school. And I feel that my son is just going to school and learning things, nothing more. Don't think the teachers care too much to understand the needs of most students. Mine just moved from another country. It's not easy for a kid to find new friends and fast. I am sure not all parents ask for help, I did and nothing happened. They are too busy thinking about the FCAT's.

It is wonderful to see that parents realize how much the teachers and staff have gone through this past year. We endured it all and did right by the children. This school has one of the hardest working and most dedicated staffs of any school ever! Please know that the reason the parent pick-up procedure was changed was because of a real concern for the safety of the children, not for our pleasure. It takes more time out of our planning time to be on duty out there, but the children are calmer and there is no one grabbing kids as we walk out with them. Yes, it might take you 5 minutes longer, but your child will not be run over in the process. Thanks to all of you have been cooperative and supportive!!!!

I believe what once was an "A" school is no longer. The teachers and staff do not care about the children's well being.

I have a child in 2nd grade and I am greatful he has such a wonderful and caring teacher. Ms.Lessne is one of the best teachers I have found and made my once struggling child into a child who comes home every night and wants to read!! The school overall is great and I can't wait for my other child to start kindergarten there in two years.

I like this school less and less. It has gone from being Parent friendly to anti parent. Afternoon pick up is a disaster and takes at least an hour for a routine that should take less than half of that. School administration/board decided to change the procedure without any meeting or input from the parents who are so adversely affected by the extra time, fuel and stress it takes us to tackle it now. I am very disappointed and angered that the school has done this.

The drop off and pick up at this school is a nightmare , be ready to get to te school a half hour in advance or more to drop of or pick up your child. They even told my kid to ge back in the car while I was trying to drop her off and move to a different location to drop her off. Very frustrating

My daughter attended Citrus Cove 3 years ago and she was on the Panther cheer squad. It was the best experience ever for her. We have since moved to Georgia and even the high school cheerleaders can not compete with the level that the Citrus Cove cheerleaders are on. And yes, we loved her teachers and never had a problem with the education.

My son was in Kindergarten at this school last year. It was a great experience. His teacher was, Mrs. Austino. she was the greatest teacher ever, she actually brought in her own piano, so that the kids could have live music daily. She a wonderful, caring teacher. She recommended my son for the gifted program for 1st grade. I hope this year will be a great year, just like last year.

I tryly believe this is a great school, my daughter is in second grade and have been here since kidergarden. The teachers are great, their extracurricular activities are exceptional (summercamp, cheerleading, clubs, girl scouts, etc.) the office staff is extremely helpful (they always go above and beyond for everyone), the school overall is an A+ there is nothing bad to say about them. I even know parent that move to the area just to get their kids in this school. It's simply a great school. Oh and I can't forget their ESOL program, the teacher is very dedicated and helpfull. Specials regards to Mrs. Catina, from Kindergarden and Mrs. Correa form 1st grade, thanks much for all your help and exceptional work with all the kids. A very greatful parent, JH

I would highly recommend this school to everyone. My son attended this school for 6 years and had a very good quality of education. My daughter is also still attending the school and has done very well with the help of the teachers and teachers aides. I along with another parent that wrote in about the OUT2 program that Mrs. Leventhal used was a great help as I was a working parent at that time. This should be implimented by the school for all teachers to use, as a guide for parents in regards to homework assignments and upcoming tests. I would also like to commend Mrs. Gallego for how see gets the kids motivated in getting their work done. I enjoyed the 4 months that I spent volunteering in her classroom along with helping out anywhere I could in the school, well worth the time.

My son has been enrolled here for the past 3 years and has had a great time. The teachers are awesome. The parent involvment is very high. My sons first grade teacher called me to let me know what we needs to work on at home to help him with his FCAT. The music classes are great and the teacher assisting is better than average.

Our children went to Citrus Cove for several years. I think the principal does a great job controlling the school and teachers. The teachers were good, overall, but later we found that the gifted program in a nearby local school was much more difficult and rigourous than at Citrus Cove. Our experience at Citrus Cove was good and I would not hestitate to send our kids there again.

This is a wonderful A rate public school. A gifted program is located here for those students who qualify. The school has a great cheerleading squad. I think they may be weak in the area of music and parents are generally involved.

My daughter has been attending Citrus Cove since 2nd grade. She just finished 4th grade and I am starting to think about middle and high school. The quality of this publice school in my opinion is excellent. My daughter has done well in the state FCAT testing. She had met or exceeded state requirments since she started testing in 3rd grade. The shool also provided an after school program where she received help with her homework. In addition to this she also could participate in many after school activities. Since she enjoyed cheerleading she was able to join the team. The team actually won a national competition. The PTA does a tremendous effor in terms of getting the parents invlived. I will let her finish 5th grade because at Citrus Cove because of the education she has received to date.

I was happy to see that my daugther's kindergarden teacher last year, Mrs Leventhal, used the OUT2 program. I am very disappointed that more teachers haven't yet joined. This year, there are no teachers using this feature, as of yet. I think this is a perfect way for teachers to keep in touch with the students parents in regards to homework assignments and assignments that need to be completed as students sometimes say they forgot their homework in school. I think this should be something implimented into the teachers curriculum as most parents work and don't have time to see the everyday routine of their childs classroom. This would also be a good way for parents to check on homework assignments for children that are out sick so they don't fall behind. This e-mail is from a parent of a 1st grader and a 3rd grader. I have, on the most part, had a good relationship with both of my childrens teachers over the past years.
