About half of the students in my child's class don't know the basic math for their grade level. The overall test results for math for my kid's grade is poor. Tara Elementary has put in a lot of effort in reading. I would not give a high rating for the school.

My daughter has gone to Tara for six years (K-5) and has loved it. There is a lot of parent participation in all grade levels. The teachers and staff are all great! They work hard to teach the children in a fun and informative way.

Tara is a fabulous school. I brought my children to Tara from a title 1 (not meeting the no-child left behind act) school. One of whom has a learning disability. My daughter was brought up to speed in a matter of months and is thriving. My learning disabled son has increased his reading level by 1 1/2 grade levels over the past school year and was able to progress to the next grade. He has gained immeasurable self esteem and is almost at grade level himself. The teachers and child study team are fabulous and truly go above and beyond to help a child reach their potential. Mrs. Wilmore and Mrs. Waid especially work very hard to ensure success. Any child would be lucky to attend Tara.

I have 3 children currently attending Tara in 5th grade, 3rd grade and kindergarten. In the six years we have been at Tara I have had wonderful teachers for each of my children, great support from other members of the school staff and my children have received a good education. All three of my children like the school environment and all of the staff. Of course things have not always been perfect and we have hit a few bumps along the way over the years, but that is to be expected in any school environment. I am in the education field and I know very well what things are like being both an educator and a parent. I love Tara, I am happy my children attend the school and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have had three children that have attended Tara Elementary for grades K - 5. I most like the communication between home and school. Teachers and staff make themselves available to meet to discuss concerns.

Parental involvement is only given lip service at this school. It has become apparent to me, that when their goals and parents goals are different only their goals are recognized. Creative writing is stressed above all other principals to the detriment of math and science.

Project C.H.I.L.D. (Changing How Instruction for Learning is Delivered) is an excellent program providing a hands-on and computer-assisted approach to instruction. Students are assisted in mastering basic curriculum and encouraged to achieve maximum potential. Project C.H.I.L.D. is available in grades 3 through 5.

Tara is a great school. My child looks forward to going to school everyday! My child is only in kindergarten and already learning so much. I cannot say enough about this school and it's loving teachers, especially Mrs.Montgomery!

Great school! My child has attended Tara for Pre-K and now kindergarten. I absolutely love the teachers I have encountered. I have always felt that I can talk to them about anything and that they would listen and take things into account. I have even made special requests to have my child put with certain teachers due to learning styles and such. Can't say enough good things about this this school and it's teachers.
