This school in my judgment lacks disipline right from the top. Some of the teachers we have experienced did not put much effort into keeping an interactive environment that allows the parent to be informed and prepared for the childs education. Lack of teacher/ parent interaction. No programs to help children to make transitions or to get help when adjusting to a new school. They cut their budget by cutting after school learning and provide absolutely. They raise money for school programs that make no sense. Not a good choice if you want your child to get a good education.

Deerwood is an excellent school with a super staff. The parents are involved in most activities. The students continue to make great academic gains.

My daughter attends Stewart through the School Choice program and I wouldn't send her anywhere else! I have to drive almost 30 minutes each way to get her there and back home and it is worth every minute! I am proud to say she will complete her elementary education this year at Stewart, where she started! Great job to all the staff involved. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Stewart is a wonderful school with wonderful teachers and environment. My daughter was behind after moving from Maine but in no time, with my help and the help of her wonderful teacher, caught right up! They have high academic expectations and that is a good thing! Kindergarten isn't just coloring pictures and saying your ABC's! They encourage parents to participate in all activities and parents are welcome to come at lunch. I couldn't have hoped for a better place to send my child.

In general I think that this school is okay, as long as you have an average child. If you have a creative child that needs more than the average teachings styles it is somewhat lacking.

Ida M. Stewart Elementary provides youngsters with the building blocks for a positive, successful life. I give credit to 'Stew' for always setting the bar one notch higher than other schools. And for that I am grateful.
