When we were moving to Florida from Massachusetts because of a work transfer with my husband, I was extremely worried about my childrens education. I did an extreme amount of research on public schools throughout Florida to decide where we would move to. Central was one of the best high schools within the area we could find and I was very happy with my sons results there. We only stayed 1 year and were transferred back to Mass but now are planning to move back to Florida on our own and I will only consider homes in the Central district!

My son graduated from CHS in '07. He participated in the Dual Enrollment program and graduated with his AA degree and his high school di[ploma simultaneously. I found the guidance office to be the most knowledgeable in the county in facilitating this process. He is now enrolled- at 19 yo- in a PharmD program and is wildly successful competing with students who are consistently older than him. CHS and PHCC prepared him academically for success in a most competitive academic environment. Kudos to all involved!!!

My son is finishing his first year at Central and I must say I've been very happy with the school. He is very active in football, but the best thing about Central is it's absolutely fantastic NJROTC program. The instructors are phenomenal and have really created a program that has changed the lives of many of the students involved in it. The score that Great Schools has given Central is incorrect...this school is a 10. Oo ra Navy!!!

I graduated from Central in 2006. The only thing that makes this school great is the NJROTC program. My senior year we ranked #1 in the NATION. It is an excellent program that teaches responsibility, respect, discipline, and is still fun. It also offers tutoring, extra-curricular activities, and athletics. This program could run the school. HOWEVER, central by itself is nothing, there are only a select few of teachers that seem to know anything.

This school is great! The NJROTC program is outstanding and as many may know, they are #1! I feel this school has changed a lot and is becoming better every day!

I go to Central now, and i think that this school needs to improve alot of things. Espeacially the academics. I can honestly say that i am not learning much. And we hardly do anything. this school seems to care more about the dress code then academics. I honestly think that i am less smart then i was before i started going to this school. And this is only my first year!

I think the school needs to worry more about academics and what the children are doing or not doing in class and less about what the kids are wearing to school. Now I am not saying they shouldn't have a dress code, but they are more strict with the dress code then they are about learning. My child is in honors classes and 11th grade classes, while in 10th grade and she is still learning things she learned in middle school when we lived in NY. If they expect these kids to do better on the FCATs and in college they need to work on strenghtening the programs they are being taught and making the subjects more challenging for the students of all grades.
