Great school program for student with handicaps. The bands and sports teams are great. Chorus is a poor program, very disorganized and uses volunteers off the street who scream at students and act crazy. Academic teachers are all pretty good, some are great.
I transferred my son from a private school to ransom, and I have never been happier. So far the teachers are caring, guidance counselor are there to answer questions, and the PTA is very involved. Because of the support I have received, I have not had to deal with the principal.
Oh and the lunches are horrible, school lunch...eeeek. Then there is chic fil a and pizza hut. No vegetables!!! Growing kids cant grow without them.
Ransom is an excellent school for students who want to learn and parents who support them. It is easily the top middle school in the district. Of course, some students come to school to cause trouble and disrupt the learning environment, and some parents are not involved in their children's education and do not want to be bothered. Ransom works hard to turn these populations around and help them, but ultimately will not let them interfere with the education of those who want to learn.
Very involved administrative team....feel the love for their students! Provides many clubs, programs, etc. to keep children active. Teachers very willing to help children acheive great grades and they communicate with parents in a timely manner with any questions, concerns, praises!! Love their use of technology for posting grades online, automated phone calls for important messages, email communication, etc.
I believe that this school is not th best enviroment for a kid to be taught in. The school a prep school and many children are singled out . There are many cliques . It also is over crowed.
The kids just love the principal and his raps are kinda cool. I love that he backs his teachers/staff, it seems so rare these days. However, when a teacher is in eror then there needs to be changes made and he does not push for that nor does he encourage free communication between parents and teachers. I'm tired of hearing how the over population is the root of the problems in this school. Bull, if a teacher is too stressed by the load then they need to leave the profession or go to a school that would be less demanding of their time/energy. There is a web site for parent/teacher communication and it seems Math & Science are excellent in using them to assist parent involvement but Reading & Language don't bother. Principal says it is not required, so, no communcation = no parent involvement. How is that beneficial to students?
The teachers yell alot and single out alot of students. Sometimes they call the students names and make them feel bad. And they have alot of favorites. They teach alot of things your never going to use in life mostly in reading.
My kids go to school there and they love it and i do to great schools and teacher!
Rasnsom is a great school thats why it is so 'crowded' as some people say. the new principal is great
