My child finished Caloosa in 2009 and it was amazing. However, my experience has been completely different the past 2 years with my middle child. First my childs schedule changed at least 3 times in the first semester last year. At one point he did not have a language arts class. When I spoke to the Dr. Cole she seemed to not care and referred me to the AP who was in charge of schedules. I called the school several times and Dr. Rader never returned my call herself and delegated the job to a guidance counselor. My last experience with the principal was at an awards ceremony and her demeanor was very cold which I found so disapointing. My sons teachers seem so unhappy and I would be if I had to work for her. Thankfully my son is resilient a
All I have to say is, I cannot stand it here. I feel as if I was some old loser here. I was called a maniac, and a machine by some staff, and it didn't feel good. I am a human being and I'm not crazy. The kids began to gang up on me with "alien" "queer" "weirdo" and some even called me "crazy" only because I actually payed attention in class. Rumors are present in this school too. Kids also find loopholes to bully others, as claimed by one of this schools teachers. Yet what is done about this? It took me literally 3 years to actually get something done about the mass bullying that happened to me. I know none of you reading this can wait 3 years for your child's bullying to stop. I even thought about running away because of this school. This school is about 70% of the reason I suffer from depression. Do what you think is right, parents. I just want you to know, I'm not lying. It hurt here. :'(
I go to caloosa middle school and I will not recommend it. To many fights and too many drugs.
So disappointed with the administration and teachers here, as other parents have said your kids don't matter. Any issue that comes up they will talk to teacher and assume what they say is truth when it isn't and then your child is bullied by all administration. I am not completing the year here with my child she will go to another school. The teachers won't return calls and the office staff is beyond rude for your children's sake don't choice this school. I made the mistake and my child has suffered because of this. After my last interaction with the staff I walked out with my child and she won't return. They will tell you how fair they are but if your not there they will scream at your child and force them to say things that are untrue. Their are also fights at the school and staff is clueless. Please as a parent I beg you pick another school this is not the best choice!!
this school is the best middle school in lee county, the best high school is Oasis
This school has been wonderful! The teachers are so nice and they really helped my daughter excel. Since she has been there, she has been a straight A student.
Caloosa is a great school I love going to school in elementary I didnt want to go but know I dont want to miss a day there are rarely any fights my mom is always updated with my grades and the teachers are excellent and willing to help! This school is the best and the princaple is amazing ! I love this school
I feel the teachers should be allowing the kids to make up work when they have been absent. Some do and some don't. Teachers should be calling parents when students grades are falling. When parents call teachers they should return calls within 24 hrs. Alot of teachers at this school don't return calls for days or the parent has to recall them.
I attended Caloosa and my little sister goes there now. I hated it! There are fights practically every week. The drama within that school seriously needs some reconciliation - so many rumors fly about. Honestly, it's horrible for a person's self esteem. Everyone hates on everyone else. It's awful! Really, no one does anything about it. Now, there are a few teachers that really care about the kids, but the PRINCIPAL isn't one of them. He has such little control over the students. Something needs to be done about that school.
Caloosa Middle Schools is a very good school. I would know, I have been attending this school since for two years and I am now entering the school year as an 8th grader. The teachers really take the time to make sure you understand your studies. I am in the Gifted program that they offer at Caloosa and all the oppurtunities we get are awesome. As for the clubs, exploratories and other non-academic classes, they provide students with a break from their five basic classes. I am so glad that I had a chance to meet the teachers and staff at this school. They really make middle school a great experience.
This school is the best. I use to go here!go team dragons gifted program
My daughter is a student at Caloosa and I have had nothing but issues with the staff there. They are non responsive and cold. The one bright star of the school is Mr. Galaska who will go 100 miles out of his way to help the kids.. I am switching my daughter out for her 8th grade year.
We have been very pleased with our experience at Caloosa Middle School. The teachers are great - my daughter loves them. The courses are challenging but not unreasonable. Communication with the teachers is enhanced by the Pinnacle Viewer, where you can see your child's grades on every assignment in every subject at any time. We chose Caloosa because of the Drama Program which was then cut. We wish it would be offered again.
This year I will be an 8th. grader at Caloosa Middle, and I say it is one of the best schools! With Caloosa being an A+ school, it has taught me so much. All the teachers I've had are really nice. It will be sad when I leave for High Schoolnext year!
I am a 7th grader at Caloosa and the last year has been very enjoyable and I would give the quality of the academic programs an 'A+'. When it comes to extracurricular activities, they give everybody a chance and they dont hurt anyones feelings if they have something wrong with them...But they do limit who they let do these things because some students might not be doing well in their classes so they tell them that if they bring their grades up, they will be able to do the extracurricular activity they want to do. About 94% of the time, the students work better on their grades which shows that they can do it and they get somethings to look foward to. The level of parent in volvement is well but for example, I wasnt doing so well in my math class and my mom tried calling the teacher and he never returned her calls.
This school is disorganized. The teachers are less than spectatular in several areas. The location is too close to a main road for my liking. I have known several students who have went to this school and severely disliked it.
I have been very disappointed with this school. My son is currently in the school and my daughter graduated and is now attending high school. I am a profession within our community. If maintained my patients with the disrespect this staff has for the students and parents I would be in court for malpractice. I have attempted to consult with the staff at this school and have experienced a teacher who changed would tell me one thing and in the same hour repeat the conversation to the principle of the school with a different view of the situation. The teacher look at the children to learn with one review and not ask questions. This not just from one child in this school but from many parents I have spoken with. This is a school wide problem. I feel our students today will not be ready to run our country tommorrow.
