Gulf Middle school is my support. This school has truly guided me in the right direction. The teachers, and students always support and respect me for who I am. The education is nothing but the best. This school helped me to make the right choices and follow my heart. I recommend this school to everyone.
Gulf Middle School has a very safe learning environment with a friendly staff dedicated to getting your child the education he or she needs. The school has two main rules: Keep your hands to yourself and watch what comes out of your mouth. Each and every student has those two rules memorized by heart thanks to their principal, Mr.Lane. On announcements every morning he reminds them that they come to school to get an education. The students give a hundred percent effort at what they do. In fact, when I attended this school, our FCAT scores was one of the top in the county. Our were Writing scores were one of the top out of the state. Not only is the school great academically, but they also have great rewards for the students after every quarter for their hard work. I had a very fun 3 years at Gulf and have made so many memories that I will carry for the rest of my life.
My son is in 7th grade this year. Gulf Middle is an excellent school with great teachers. Parents if you are considering a good school "Gulf Middle" is the one!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I have two children in Gulf Middle School. The teachers in the 6th and 7th grade are not good communicators. They don't tell you they are having a problem with your child until they get to the point of referrals and then they don't tell you that the child is going to be punished by after school detention and In School Suspension for the same infraction. They also don't seem to care if the student is failing and don't keep up the grades on Parentlink in a timely manner, even though all the schools encourage parents to use Parentlink all the time. My kids mostly make really good grades all year and then fail the FCAT.
As a transplant from NY, I was very concerned about the quality of schools here in FL - I had previously heard they were not equivalent to what we were used to. Unfortunately I found this to be true to some extent. My son easily scores almost perfect FCAT scores without even studying (the Holy Grail according to the state of FL, I guess), yet almost fails many of his classes due to lack of interest and motivation. He also has been bullied quite a bit at this school, which is causing him to not enjoy school, and affecting him academically as well. I've asked the school for assistance several times and have been ignored. Recently my son has been suspended several times for getting into fights with the kids that were picking on him. Needless to say I'm very disappointed on the way this is being handled.
My daughter is in the 6th grade and the only disappointment isthat Gulf Middle School does Not teach Spanish only French, this is disappointing we have moved from Cleveland Oh. and has found that Spanish is so important to learn in this state. Also when she goes off to high school she will be behind with other students that have gone to other middle schools that all offer Spanish
Gulf Middle is the greatest school I have ever attented I am a current 8th grader and love it! Every student and teacher there is kind and considerate! If you want your child to attend a great school you should consider Gulf!
This is an excellent school. My son is in 6th grade and is doing very well.
This is quite a good school for a child to learn the basics. Not all teachers care or are adequately competent, but in the main, chances are your child can achieve good progress if he/she care to study seriously. Kudos to the principal: a good administrator and quite responsive to parents communications.
As far as Lee County schools go, Gulf is about the best that can be hoped for. I am the parent of a gifted 8th grader recently transferred here from Collier County. I find the gifted education programs fall far short of other programs she has been involved in in Hillsborough and Collier Counties.
