Just enrolled my 3rd grader at this school last Nov. when we moved here. I LOVE it! and he loves it too. His teacher worked closely with us to get his academics on track after he was diagnosed and treated for ADHD. She was always willing to communicate and show us how much his education and well-being is her top priority. His teacher got to move up with her students from last year if the student chose to attend her class. All of her students moved up with her to 3rd grade. Everyone I've encountered at the school is positive and welcoming, including the office and lunch time staff. I feel like they all try to work with parents and students to get the kids' education where it needs to be, instead of just telling parents what needs to happen and what problems the child has. They have nice playgrounds, an outdoor eating area if you'd like to have lunch alone with your child and recently painted a beautiful mural of our local beach on an exterior wall. Safety is a high priority as they have safety patrol students help children exit the cars in the mornings along with adult supervision. I would highly recommend this school!
As a STUDENT who went here this school is definetly better than a 6. The teachers care about teaching you all subjects no matter what class you're in. The traditions are like no other, field day, dads movie night and all the caring staff, Dr.best. Keep it up.
After a horrible kindergarten year at Hancock Elementary, my son was transferred to Skyline. I must say, I'm so glad he started here, I saw the great progress, his teacher was so caring and my son loved her so much. The difference was so amazing, I was really happy. His teacher showed how much she wanted to deal with my son, not like in Hancock where they just passed the buck. Also, I had lunch and after school care issues and the principal was so understanding and he resolved the issues asap. I give this school a 10.
GREAT OVERALL , BEST TEACHERS, ACADEMIC IS GREAT, PRINCIPAL IS AWESOME. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE YOU AS EQUAL.MY OLDEST SON WHO IS 17 WENT THERE AND WHEN MY SECOND CHILD WAS BORN I ALREADY KNEW THAT SKYLINE ELEMENTARY IS WHERE HE WOULD GO. HIS 6 YRS OLD IN KINDERGARTEN.
My child has attended this school for 3 years now, I will tell you if your child needs any kind of attention at all in their schooling this is NOT the school for you. In my 3 years I have had 1 teacher that went out of their way to help my child. The staff is more about gossiping in the office, hallways anywhere they can... If you stand there long enough you will see what I am saying. Avoid Skyline and find a school that is best for your child because I promise this isnt it. A VERY unhappy parent
My son started in the 5th grade after I withdrew him from Cape Coral Charter school which he had nothing good to say. Now that he is skyline he has nothing bad to say. The teachers here are dedicated and caring. My son started in the middle of the school year and when he started he felt like he is there forever. He has been getting good grades and his attitude towards school is wonderful. Thank you so much skyline!!
My son started the prek speech/communication class this year when he turned 3. His teacher is amazing and I can't believe the progress he has made since he started. We love it.
My son was experiencing some personal issues that were affecting his academic success. The assistant principal was so kind and understanding. He encouraged my son to visit him whenever he needed a safe place. He also provided me information on local family counselors that could provide coping strategies for the family. Thank you Skyline.
I am so pleased with this school. The principal Mr. Vilardi came out to meet my children and I when we arrived. The warm friendly environment made me feel right at home, and I knew immediately that my children would be safe here.
Mrs. Seaman is in charge of the clinic at Skyline. I have been so happy with her care and concern with sick and hurt students that go to her during the school day. Whenever my son is not feeling well, I know that she will take the time to make sure he is okay to return to class or will call me if needed. Her consistent care for those children who are most vulnerable is amazing! Thank you, Mrs. Seaman!!
The teachers at Skyline are all very devoted and caring. My daughter graduated from Skyline last year and the experience was a positive one. While all schools are mandated to follow testing proceedures Skyline encourages students in a positive way with emphasis on good behavior and work ethic.
My son has been in Skyline since Kindergarten, he is going into 5th grade. His teachers have been great every year. I always request a conference at the beginning of the school year to find out what will be expected of him and the teachers have always appreciated it. I also check parentlink to see how he is doing in each class. If his grades are slipping I can email or call his teacher to find out how to help. Teachers at Skyline care about their students. I feel my son will be well prepared for middle school. I also think Mr. Valardi is a great principal and is making a difference at Skyline.
I think that even though you do have to stand and wait at the front office for attention of any kind, for what feels like forever, the school is awesome. The office staff always seem to have better things to do than help you. The teaching and helping teachers are awesome they always have helpful things to say and go above what you would expect. I love the school my two girls love it there. I have a 2nd grader and a 5th grader. My 5th grader will miss her old school greatly.
I love this school, both of my girls have gone here and I have no problems with office staff or teaching staff.
The school is great but the Office Personnel is very rude.. they never greet people with a smile, this can potentially deter people from sending there child to that school, since the office personnel gives the first impression. but other than that the school is super good, replace the office personnel and it would be excellent.
My daughter attends Skyline Elementary we have been very pleased with the teachers and staff . Everyone was very friendly and supportive. We love Skyline!
My child attends Skyline in the fourth grade. My son, now in 7th, attended Skyline for all of his elementary school years. The staff and teachers are and have always been very friendly, supportive and caring of my children. I am now a teacher at the school and have more knowledge now about what makes a great school--great staff and wonderful school leadership! We have both at Skyline. I wouldn't send my child anywhere else.
My child is a Kindergartener at Skyline. I was concerned about him starting in such a huge school and one with such varied socio-economic background. While you can't shelter your child from the world, you always want your child to be surrounded by good influences. I have been very happy with my son's teacher, Mrs. Law. She is wonderful, patient, caring, consistent, has developmentally appropriate standards for her students and has been wonderful to work with to help my son reach his full potential. I do wish the parents of the school would be more involved - I don't know what else the school staff can do to achieve this. We are very happy with our choice to send our son to Skyline Elementary!
Honestly for me this is one of the best school that my daughters are attended. Starting with the way that they recieve the kids in the morning and the way that they come home telling how good is the school for them. The secretaries in the office are really nice and friendly. The teachers Ms. Delford and Ms. Tolbie recieve my girls in their first they of school with a really positive and charmin welcome. Keep doing a great job!
The teachers at Skyline are so caring and dedicated. I have 2 children at Skyline- one is ESE and the other is gifted. The teachers work so well with my child in the ESE program. They are sensitive to his needs but challenge him as well. The gifted program is weak, but at least they level for reading so my child is in a high reading group.
