My grand kids went here and were bullied call names because they are mixed. The school takes the part of the bully did nothing to stop it. my grand suffer depression from this. my grand son was placed in what's called the dog house denied lunch and kept there all day. worst school ever......
Not a good school at all. It seems like everything the school does is by the seat of their pants, with little thought put into their decisions. The school does not prepare their students well for the future at all, considering how jumbled up the curriculum for classes are as well as how inefficient their mandatory academies are. Students should be prepared for college throughout high school, not a minimum wage job for right after they graduate. Communication is non existent with the staff. It is impossible to get ahold of staff members when I have questions or concerns. I am constantly being blown off. The teachers are as clueless as the administration. The teachers can't be blamed, since it is hard to work in an environment where no one knows how to run a school. Seriously considering pulling my child out of this school.
So far so good! My son is a freshman this year and he's doing so well. The teachers and staff are I nterested, accessible and very involved in helping him keep his grades at all A's. The honors program is just tough enough to keep him working but not too tough that he cannot excel. I have a happy teenager that is successful here.
This school has a very professional administration! From the first time I walked in the office there is a sense of "top notch" attitudes, cleanliness, smiles, and everyone is professionally dressed. This is not the norm for Lee County Public Schools...believe me! I wish I would have made Ida Baker my first choice for my daughter! The curriculum is set up for college minded students and they offer a Medical Program which fits my daughters goals!
