Absolutely LOVE this school! My 6th grade daughter has had an excellent experience here! The teachers have been wonderful. My daughter has become much more organized and eager to learn. She has developed excellent study habits. The teachers seem to create a "fun" learning environment while emphasizing rules and respect at the same time. I would highly recommend this school!
I always felt this was a good school but did not really get a real appreciation for it till we moved out of Lee County. Even my son noticed the change in education. Oasis is an incredible school with incredible teachers and staff. The education my children received while attending was the best in the area and other cities. Now if you are the type of parent that does not like to get involved with you kids education this is not the school for you. At Oasis teachers keep a close contact with parents and expect the best discipline from their student. They are not baby sitters they are teachers. That's what I want in a school and looks for too. They have an open door policy when addressing the parents concerns. I'm glad to be back and feel lucky that my kids can attend this school again.
I was reading the reviews and wanted to clarify the false information posted above regarding the FCAT scores. In fact Oasis ranked #1 in Lee County and in L.A. and #2 in Math, with only two students not passing on the first attempt, then passing on the second attempt. The focus of the Cape Charter system is the core knowledge curriculum that progresses into college preparation (qualified students can graduate the High School with up to 30 college credits) and the knowledge needed for real life experiences. The schools are filled with outstanding and caring faculty whose absolute #1 priority is success for each and every student.
My daughter has been in the City Charter School system since she began school and absolutely loves Oasis MS. This is important to me because so many kids at this age hate school. She is being challenged in her classes and continuing to build on her Core Knowledge foundation. The new gifted teacher has big ideas and is excited to be there. When I met all of her teachers at Open House I was impressed with each one's organization and excitement for their subject. We could not have made a better choice for our child.
We love Oasis. We were very nervous about the school system in Florida after moving from Minnesota. It has far exceeded our expectations and would give the best schools in Minnesota a run for their money. My daughter is extremely happy, and is now participating in all activities and doing great!
I find this school to be above average.I hated it in 6th,but that was just becuase I did not know anyone, student, tacher or other wise. But the teachers are indeed top notch, and the principal is fairly out of contact with us students.I am in 8th grade now and fairly sad to leave the school, but happy there is a high school. (Most of the exellent teachers of the middle school are going to be in the high school next year.)
I find the teachers are top notch, but the principal is a bit flighty and often makes off the wall remarks to parents about students. I think he is disconnected with the students.
I have been at oasis for 2 years and i hate it the teachers do nnot care about their students and if i were to recomend a school it would not be oasis
Fantastic school! I am so grateful that it was built and that they have decided to build the high school. I feel my daughter is getting the best education available. Oasis far exceeds my expectations in every way possible. Keep up the great work!
My daugter and son attened this school, and I am taking them out for their nextfew years of middle school. I am unimpressed with the education of this school, and some of their FCAT scores ranked below the state average. My sixth grade daughter was in their gifted program and did not challenge her skills one bit! I do not recommend this school. Two thumbs down!
