I went to Bayside and I must say, it's the best thing that ever happened to me. The teachers and staff are wonderful and so helpful. Without Bayside, I would not have graduated. They helped me get my life together.

The voters of Pinellas County have set up a choice system. Parents and students have the option of choosing the school they would like their child to attend. With this being said, my son had a choice. We discussed the pros and cons of going to Bayside High. Sports weren't part of our discussion. We discussed the academic possibilities; he initiated talk of college. He was starting to actually plan ahead of high school, for once. My son is not an angel and he found Bayside High through the new principal, Mrs. Patricia Lavoy. He has the utmost respect for her and any staff she supervises. He sees potential at BHS. He tells me it s a little intimidating at first, (probably because it s across the street from a jail) but overall, improvements are possible. BHS is a beautiful school. The layout and materials (tile and marble) used are awesome. This parent has no complaints as of yet on BHS.

I was very apprehensive about sending my son to this school. However, I have seen such a change in him since being there. He wants to go to school. He's doing great -- he even wants to go to MIT after high school. Unfortunately, they have no football team; so he will be going to Countryside next year. Nevertheless, the teaching staff has encouraged him to succeed in his studies. He was so bored in middle school, that he wouldn't go. Now, he doesn't even want to stay home if he's sick! There has been no incidents endangering him or other children, either. So, it's been an overall good experience! Great principal who sincerely cares about the kids!
