My child attended this school for 6th & some of 7th grade, I removed her from this school because the school lacks leadership in dealing with disciplinary issues, and I did not feel my child was safe in this school. Also academic standards are low and the curriculum teaches to the average , aiming to get the student a 3 on the FCAT, there are no gifted/ enrichment classes available, no clubs, music and limited parental involvement. Since enrolling in another district it is further evident in the shortcomings at this school, the students are being left behind at CMS ;-(

As of now i am an 8th grader at this school. This is a good school but some of the ways they handle these problems are not so excellent. There are girls 14 and 13 walking around pregnant! this is a school to learn but one question where are all the sex ed classes, they gave out in 6th grade I'm very concerned.

My child's FCAT scores dropped tremendously while attending CMS. School needs a complete overhaul from the top down. Parental involvement is nil. There have been NO community involvement programs or requests for assistance from the school. Offers to help have been turned down when I asked what I could do to help (afterschool tutoring, mentoring, library help, etc.)

My son attended this school for the 6th grade and part of the 7th grade. I was shocked at the lack of support for students within the school. Classes are not geared for the students the classes are designed for, rather, whoever ends up in them.

I am a parent of a former student. Some of the administration is great at this school, but it lacks quality leadership in its principal, lacks quality in discipline and parent involvement, and in my opinion has become unsafe in several ways. There is little room for alot of students to take up sports.

This school could be a good school but it lacks the vigorous leadership it takes to run a middle school successfully. There is too much emphasis on trying to pass the FCAT without any emphasis on literature or other resources that teach kids why reading is important in the first place.

The academic programs at this school are next to nil. There is an appalling lack of attention to curriculum and learning resources, as evidenced by the number of teachers out of field, the poor library, the paucity of enrichment programs, etc.

This is a decent school as long as your child does not need extra help.I have been happy with 95% of my kids teachers. There is a program available for advanced kids, nothing compared to the coast. School has a hard time keeping or replacing teachers due to low pay. Music program is minimal at best. There is not a lot of extracurricular activites due to lack of busing. No after school programs like science, chess or any club. Small community school atmosphere.
