I don't think the last review is true. I am very happy with Atlantis, their communication, and the principal. Both of my children have been on field trips this year and they were well organized. The teachers are great and very involved.
I am not very happy with this school. The lack of communication between the school and the parents is aggravating and unnecessary. The events never seem organized and neither does the principal. There are NO field trips due to the teachers and the administration. I am quite sad that I moved my children out of Challenger 7's district. That school was much better in staff, administration, field trips, activities, etc. etc. Oh...but it does look pretty.
I have been part of Atlantis know for 7 years and can only say great things about the school. The staff is amazing and goes beyond the call of duty. I would not want my children anywhere else!
As a prior professional Nanny, I have seen many schools. Atlantis is a very welcoming school with very high standards for character. The school is focused on bringing out the best in your child. I am a proud parent of my first grade daughter! (Her younger sister will be attending too)
I love Atlantis and have had one student 'graduate' and one student still attending. I am so pleased with the new Rachel Challenge program they have started this year! It is a nice replacement with the void of Mr. Rick after his retirement. I really belive that kindness can be a culture. I have had my issues good and bad regarding teachers but it takes every type to make the world go around. Each time I have felt that I was listened to with respect which is all I ask.
I am a grandmother of two girls who attend Atlantis. I was able to attend the event last Friday that focused on Rachels Challenge. I know there are so many parents who cannot attend since they work and wanted to commend Ms. Tomlinson and Atlantis for an outstanding lesson. All parents should know that their child participated in what could be the most important life lesson they ever learn. Being kind to others. Rachel was a child who loved to 'do good' to others and although she died at 17, her legacy lives on. Our children were challenged to be kind and for every act of kindness they add a link to the chain. This is my grandchildrens first year at Atlantis as 2nd and 4th graders and I am proud to have found such a wonderful place of learning for them. Sue Tindall
I love Atlantis! My children have learned so much. The teachers and administration care. I really appreciate the good character things that they teach. I couldn't ask for a better school.
My daughter has gone to Atlantis for 3 years and we're moving out of district now. This school was a major reason we almost did not buy the new house. I will miss Atlantis!
The teachers at this school work hard and most do care about their students. They are behind in technology but the teachers provide a lot of opportunities for different types of learning environments. On the surface things look good, but if you really look hard what is preached (character) is not practiced. There is a lot of fake smiles and fake friendly voices as well as 'I am your buddy' comments, but in truth the administration is there for themselves. Don't get bullied because hey, 'you must have done something to bring it on yourself' and 'it takes two'. If a parent does something that the administration does not like, they don't mind taking it out on your child...maybe not right away, but they won't forget. On the other hand, if you help to make them look good, your child can get away with much more than any others.
I recently moved here from out of state. I have tried schools of choice around this area and found that Atlantis Elementary outshines them all...in teacher preparation, parent/teacher relationships and character education. I am so glad I made this move, just wish I would have made it sooner!
