My daughter is finishing up 3rd grade at CCES and boy have we seen it change! When she started kindergarten, CC was a nice, friendly, caring school. Now, nobody seems to know or care anymore. Teachers do not want to get involved and let unacceptable behavior run rampant! Our children have often come home in tears over the things that have happened and they way they were treated! And the teachers refuse to do anything about it. I know of 3 students who will not be attending CCES for the 4th grade and my daughter is 1 of them! If I were you, I'd check out other alternatives! My daughter ranked 1 of the 3 highest FCAT scores in her class and her talents are being wasted. She is constantly bored and not being taught anything new!

My daughter is in the fourth grade at CCES. The school is on point academically and has a very inviting atmosphere. Teachers are very accomodating and will go the extra mile. The PTA is awesome and I love the way they get the parents actively involved. I have actually volunteered many times and have enjoyed interacting with the staff and students. My daughter and I will miss this school when she graduates next year.

My daughter just completed second grade and her teacher was wonderful! There was a lot of school work and projects, but her teacher really tried to make the work fun and she was very concerned and cared for each and every student in her classroom. I felt confident my daughter was in a safe, learning environment. The administration kept parents informed on school happenings and had many social events as well.

My daughter transitioned to Coconut Creek Elementary from a Dade county school and I can't believe the difference. This school was very efficient in my child's progress academically and socially. My daughter is moving on to Middle School and CCES has prepared her for this transition. Coconut Creek Elementary is truly a school of Excellence.

I have two children who attend CCES and I must say I am very happy and very involved in the school. Parents who are not involved do not see the everyday make-up of our school. Both the teachers and support faculty treat the children as their own it is truly one big happy family. Both our playgrounds need updating.

CCES is an A+ school with a wonderful group of teachers and administrators that continually strive to have the best learning environment for the kids. The school has the support of a very involved PTA. The children have access to academic camps as well as clubs (i.e. ecology, art, music, science). My children are very happy at the school and needless to say, so am I. The one thing I would change is the school playground. It seems very old and outdated.

Coconut Creek Elementary school is a lovely and great school. I will miss it as my son now enters Middle school. All the faculty exhibit great compassion. The teachers give individual attention to their students. The new principal is a wonderful addition to the school. He continues to work with the student's best interest, as they attend his school at Coconut Creek Elementary. He makes school fun for the students, too. They have a good aftercare program run by the teachers. The PTA is very active within the school and does a great service to the school. Many parents are involved. They've many other volunteers as well (retirees, ex-parents, etc). Coconut Creek Elementary definately gives the feel of a big 'family school'. I couldn't say enough in favor of the school and have no bad things to say at all! Onsite 'Officer Henry' is loved by all, keeping a safe school.

An excellent small community school. Great teachers. Great new principal. Great staff. Individual attention to students. Very active PTA. Would not hesitate to send your child to Coconut Creek Elementary.

Teachers should help the students more. I am a parent and I am actively involved with my child and her schooling, but get little help from the teacher. I feel that I am teaching more than the teacher. The teacher doesnt even grade homework, just checks it to see if it was done, they expect the parent to check it and make sure its right. They don't slow down to make sure a student understands what they are doing. We need more involvement with the teachers.

Some teachers are willing to help but some teachers aren't willing to work with you. I find that there is some issues regarding race within the school. The school needs more Afro-American teachers.

About the tests
Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
GreatSchools Ratings are based on the most recent standardized test results for schools.
