LFA is the best school in Broward County for multiple languages. My daughter who's in Kindergarten can read, write, and understand French, English, and the basics in Spanish. Teachers and administrators (know all students by name and treat them like their own) are always available to discuss any concerns; I can schedule a meeting or talk to her teacher at anytime before or after regular school hours. To anyone interested in LFA, I will advise you not to just read these comments, but call, visit the school, talk to the teachers and staff ... check it out yourself.

Lycee Franco-Americain is one of the best school in Broward. My son goes there for the past 3 yeras and he is very happy. The teachers are pleasant and very open. What I appreciate about the school is the way the teachers work with the students to put them at level. I will definitely recommend LFA to every parents who want their child to learn and speak French.

This is unfortunately the only school that offers French education in Broward. For parents who are in Aventura also it is a convenient location, but as a parent we need to ask ourselves if location will trump education. The school principal places a lot of emphasis on apparences, but is much less interested in the quality of the education that your child will receive. Beisdes one or two good teachers, the rest is far from what is expected from an average school (I am not even trying to compare them to the best ones). Some teachers poorly speak French (new words are created on a daily basis), yet they are supposed to teach all day in that language. Interactions with teachers are difficult because the director tries to prevent them as much as she can. The worst of all this is that when you speak to someone at the French consulate, you realize that they know exactly what the situation is but would not intervene. Many parents moved in the neighborhood and bought a house, so once they find out what is going on it is too late to move there child to another French school, since they are so far away. However, many have removed their child and opted for private French classes.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
