Excellent curriculum and strick administration. A school that will prepare your child for the future.

I am currently a junior in high school and I have to say I think Carver prepared me extremely well for the workload this year. I go to a private school where a lot of the kids were babied from grades 6-8 and now have no idea how to handle the heavier workload - I was well prepared. I had some amazing teachers at Carver, but I also had some terrible ones - you have to get lucky to get the good ones. I was in the IE Spanish program and every year I had one great spanish teacher and one really bad spanish teacher, so I was always learning what I needed to know one way or the other. The principal is arrogant and not the greatest, and the administrators in general were disliked by the student community, but they did their jobs ok. I also appreciated the fact that there was no lack of diversity at Carver... a lot of kids at my private school have been living in a bubble for their entire lives, which I can say was definitely not the case at Carver: there were kids from every background imaginable, and though there were some who were cliquey, there is definitely a social group for everyone.
I am a student now in 7th grade spanish program and i think that even tho everyother person says this school is excellent, i believe its okay from my experience. The principal makes a big deal out of uniform and some of the parents even thought that. There is a lot of stress and I am very tired; sleeping around 11 oclock at night. Even though, they say that the homework isnt supposed to be a lot and that ur supposed to sleep at 9 or so oclock (in the agenda). If you put ur child in this school, ur child will be influenced (changing their look). In the Student Code of Conduct, it states that you cannot hug or show any "affection" to your peers and look at what the student do all the time? I believe that i only went to this school so i can go to a good highschool.
This school has been ALL that I expected and more! My daughter is in 8th grade IS French and now she is fluent in three languages Spanish, English and French. Great teachers, great academics and leadership. I wish they had a high school......Unfortunately, my daughter was placed in waiting list in MAST and Coral Reef HS/IB Programme so we have enrolled her in La Salle, which I hope will give her the same quality education. I recommend this school to every student that wants to attend a good high school and a good university. Good luck!

Carver has been the best school of Florida 3 years in a row !!!! I'm so proud to be a student at this school. I'm in the course of IS French, as many people have said it's pretty intense because of the bar that many students have to reach. But either way it's a really fun school, everyone is well behaved and the teachers are great. For me the French program is kind of hard because I don't speak french at home. I wouldn't say it is excruciatingly hard, like many people are saying, I say it's easy/medium. Carver has helped me so much, that my GPA is now a 3.7. I would never forget this school, and I'm looking forward for my children to go and enjoy this magnificent school as I did .... :D.

My daughter goes to this school. She is in the IE Spanish Program and this is her last year here. She loves this school. They have an amazing staff and good students. They will provide your child with everything they need and its just a fun to school to go to. They have great events and socials. Carver middle prepares you for high school by placing your child in all honors high school courses. But if your child is struggling they will provide the attention needed. Great attendance and its the school where you need to be if you want to suceed. I would recommend this middle school to any child entering middle school. Its been an 'A' school for over the past 5 years and Im positive they will keep up the good work.

It's an all-AP school which is the middle school track for the international studies program in Miami-Dade County (1/2 day intensive language study in either Spanish, French or German). Teacher availablity and involvement is tops. I have twins in the German program (6th year) and the homework load is heavy as are academic expectations. A good percentage of students are European. But for those kids with good organizational and study skills and motivation, success if there. Heavy parental involvement is welcome and needed. Great school.

I'm currently attending Carver Middle and I'm proud to say that it's the number one public school in the state of Florida. It has great teachers and amazing staff. You get extra credits high school because of the fact that the classes are all advanced!

As a former student of G.W. Carver Middle Schools I.S. program and current graduate student in Education, I must cite certain things about educators at G.W. Carver. Several during my experience at Carver were not certified in the specific areas of knowledge and expertise they were expected to teach. The pressure to be academically perfect is immense and stress management is poorly encouraged by the staff moreso, maintaining its status of 'perfection.' After learning to be fluent in a language I grew to despise it and later dropped out of the program due to the immense pressure put upon by most teachers. G.W. Carver also possess a great deal of children from Miami's elite aristocratic families who greatly influence school happenings. Meaning, those children recruited to G.W. Carver (because they're smart!) face a greater deal of adversity from many of Miami's elite children who snobbishly remind peers of their status.
I went to this school and it was the best I am looking foward that if ever I have children they will go to this school .I love the teacher s you get attached to them emotionally .The acedemic is unbelievable. they are not strict and the students are still well behaved they have the top of the class education i just LOVE IT

Excellent school, my daughter is in the IS French program and they do have a lot of homework, however she likes it there. I wish they had the time and the funding to have some phys. Ed though. She is taking the Arts elective and they say most children from Carver with an art elective can easily enter the best HS in this field afterwards.

In my opinion the best Middle School in Miami, Florida. They have a two language program which my daughter took Spanish...all her teachers were GREAT. She exceeded in all her subject clases. This is like a private school. She is now in CGSH International Baccalaurette Progran which I am proud to say there are only 80 students. Thank you Carver

G. W. Carver is a great school. Class sizes are small and the curriculum is very challenging. There are two language programs at the school; one is the IS program, in which math is taught in a foreign language and the second is the IE (Int'l Education)(which has two levels in the Spanish program, one for Spanish speakers and one for non-speakers). In the IE program, math is taught in English. If you want your child to become fluent in a foreign language and at the same time study an advanced, pre-IB/AP curriculum, this is the place for you.

Carver is a great school for kids who are willing to learn. The atmosphere is social, but their discipline is tough and fair. I am so happy my child went there because the best colleges accept kids from the Carver IE/IS program often. The teachers are willing to teach and are great with parents. The work is hard and challenging, and the amount of homework depeneds on the teacher. I really like the way every of my child's teachers teach, their curriculum is strong and effective.

The school is overall a great school, although the principal, isn't quite the best, and a few of the teachers aren't quite up to snuff, but generally, it's a great school.

Very serious school, teachers are the best, they follow your child and keep you informed if your child has difficulties. A lot of homework and reading. Overall the kids are well behaved and the teachers friendly. Parents have to be involved in their children's programs. Carver also presents the best high-schools to the 8th graders. The language programs are difficult but rewarding. The negative aspects: All kids can't do sports, the school does not have the space, and not all teachers load the homework online, some do but not all of them, too bad!!! Overall, it's a great school and I am happy that my son went there.

This school's culture is incredible. The programs are demanding, but well worth it. I recommend sending your child to this school.

This school provided the most marvelous education, in an atmosphere of safety, interesting, diverse and joyful students and absolutely wonderful, dedicated teachers. Spanish Lead teacher, Mrs. Buitrago, truly knows how to teach as well as provide children with their own self-confidence and self-respect. Mrs. Szmulevicz, math teacher, is tough, honest, and a remarkable teacher... Carver is great in every way and prepares students to any high school. Thanks for the great years, Margie Samuels
