Taravella was the worst school my child ever attended. Total lack of teacher communication and lack of concern by faculty. The discontentment of the staff is evident.

My daughter attends Taravella.. I'm very disturbed by their lack of involvement and concern about the students. I have on several occasions left messages and emailed her counselor with specific concerns, with no response. When in class it seems acceptable for students to sleep. When school was missed, I wasn't contacted. If it was an excused absence, she was told that it wasn't necessary to make up work, nor was past work explained. I'm terribly disappointed in the Broward County School District as a whole, having had to try to deal with them for 6 years now.

Today is April 2012...and I can not believe HOW RUDE THE Office People are...they do not smile, they do not help, the lady at the attendance complains ..she gets a hundred of calls at day and it is too much for her ...why the Principal does not do a better job for her NOT to MAKE Mistakes. ???.it only takes one to be the one that makes a difference...The school does not get a good job with parents...I avoid to go there...I do not need rude people in my day....

I felt the staff of this school, especially the teachers, were very unprofessional. They did not communicate effectively with parents, treated the students terribly (through a paper at a student), and did not provide a rigorous curriculum. The administration was only concerned with athletics and their football field being built.

I loved attending this school. All the students seemed to get along 80% of the time which I believe is amazing in a high school. It definetly has the tools for students to learn. Teachers and staff are great, they treat students with respect and all of the clubs and organizations make it very accesible to incorporate yourselfs with them. Not like my middle school, Silver Lakes which was horrible, and clubs were really only advertised to 'certain students'.

J.P. Taravella made my high school more than memorable. The clubs and activities(especially our award winning Drama club)I was involved in made me want to get up and go in the morning where I otherwise may have just hit the snooze button. The teachers I had were a major part of my experience, they taught me more than just the curriculum but life lessons. They weren't just your teachers, they were your mentors and your counselors when need be. Shawn Cerra was also the most involved principal I've ever heard of. It was really something to see him show up at our Drama state competition. Taravella deserves the 20,000!
I am very proud to say that we send our son to J.P.Taravella High, He has gone to public school in Coral Springs his whole life. J.P Taravella provides a wonderful learning enviorment for our child.

Taravella is a great school, we moved so that my son could go to this school. Every school has it's good and it's bad, over all, I would give Taravella an above average grade. There are so many teachers that have really gone above and beyond and I thank them for that. Can't wait for our football stadium!

great music and drama programs. Good program called Pinnacle for parents to keep track of their kids grades but the teachers only input grades on a sporadic basis. I have been told by some teachers that they do not use voice mail and that is why I have been unable to contact them. Too high tech for them?

This is an amazing school. Everybody is very close even though the pop of students is really big. Theres a really good variety of sports and clubs for everyone. Theres always something happening, either in lunch or after school. The Teachers are mostly all really good. The staff and principle are absolutely incredible, they all treat you like close friends and not stupid students like most adults. Im know a junior at jpt and the few years Ive spent here have been such a delight. Jpt really prepares you for the future you wish to pursuit.

I am familiar with many of the high schools in our community, and JPT is definitely the absolute best. I have never seen a school where there is so much genuine caring and concern for the staff and students as JPT. From the top down, this school is all about ensuring that each student reaches their potential. They are also awesome at helping place students and help them in their future endeavors, whether it be college or work. I believe they have a very large percentage of students who go on to higher education, and this is a credit to the teachers and guidance staff as well as the administrators who push the students and encourage them and help them succeed.

JP Taravella is a wonderful school. My son attended and graduated last year. He became a completely different person - focused, driven and hard working - during his tenure at JPT. I attribute it to strong and dedicated teachers at JPT, who give up most of their free time to develop kids into successes - good parenting also plays an equal role here. Thank you JPT!

This is an ok school not great and not bad. Alot of gangs and drugs going around the school but its a ok learning environment for kids. The NJROTC program is really good for students.

My older children attended Taravella and over the past 10 years, unfortunately the academic and social environment as drastically declined. Unfortunate this was once an A school. Ask 1 question to the guidance dept to determine this schools rating. How many seniors go to 4 year college?

This school has potential to be a great school. What it sorely lacks is communication with parents and good leadership. Seems like the school is only interested in obtaining a football stadium and promoting their drama club (which is spectacular). Not a bad place, but needs improvement.

I have not only been a student, but am now a faculty member, and will soon be a parent at this great school. Yes it has changed over the last 25 years, but for the better. The quality of faculty members at JPT is second to none.

its a wonderful school. I have 3 children whom i switched from private school, and found similar curiculum and school environment. All teachers are very well educated and make the fullest of efforts to teach the children.
