Eagle Ridge Elementary School

The school staff is ok in general. The reason I am submitting two starts review is because of a particular teacher my son got in Kindergarten. Form other parents we heard that Kindergarten teachers Mrs.Backman and Mrs.Adamson are very good. However, Dont let your kids be in the class of Mrs. Harvey in Kindergarten. She is so rude and is not responsive to your concerns. Is not willing to work with you to improve your kid, all she does she just mark him red and send home a note, even for small things like "did not hear hear her instructions and follow them first time" or "just looking the other was while doing something" Give me a break! These are Kindergarten 5 yr olds Actually the reason my kid was having behavior issues was he was bored in class, but Mrs.Harvey would not address that problem and was not willing to give any extra assignments to him.

My son is attending third grade at the Eagle Ridge, It is a great school with a good staff. However, my son is not getting the same attention level other schools offered to him. His tutor, recommended by the Broward County confirmed his high IQ; but his teacher has not been able to take advantage or she looks not motivated to help him succeed. It is a great school; but you have to be involved.

Just had to write this after reading the last review, TOTALLY UNTRUE! The teachers and the principal are amazing. They really care about the kids. Eagle Ridge is a safe school where every child feels welcome. If there is a problem, meet with your child's teacher to solve it. Don't "get stuck", "get involved."

Their test scores were high and that's the reason we moved here. The reason the scores are high is because of the parents and has nothing to do with the teachers or the administration. Some of the teachers do their job but some really don't care at all. They just phone it in for the paycheck. The principal is not concerned with anything other than the power trip she's on. Some of the kids are sweet but there are a ton of bullies that like to pick on the new kids especially the smart ones. I wish I would have read the truth before moving but now I'm stuck; hopefully you will not be.

I have a question: We are considering moving to the area of Eagle Ridge Elementary School as we have heard great things about it. But, what middle school would the kids go to when they are done and how is it?

I have had a mixed experience some of the teachers have been great over the years and some are so inappropriate with the kids rushing and being condescending and even yelling. The principal NEVER calls back but delegates to others, the VP is awesome and warm but in meeting you do get the feeling of a run-around. All in all it's a pretty good school I just wish some of the bad teachers would be held accountable for the actions and how they chose to direct themselves to the students.

I am sorry to disagree. This is a terrible school. I wish I never enrolled my child in this school. I have nothing good to say about the principal, guidance counselor or any other staff. I have never attempted to work with such cold people in my life. They do not work with the parents and do not care for their opinions. They just do as they please without helping the children.

This is an amazing school. The principal, teachers, parents all work as a team. This family atmosphere makes Eagle Ridge the top notch school that it is. This is no doubt the BEST school in Broward County. It has a well deserved reputation for its excellence.

My children are 7 years apart and I have grown with the school as it has evolved to accommodate K-5. My children have had a wonderful experience. The PTA, administration and teachers are all a cohesive unit that support each other to make this school phenomenal!

My child has been at Eagle Ridge for his whole elementary school experience. We love the school and will be sad to move on. People know each other and the staff get to know the children. Teachers and administration are great. We would totally recommend this school!! Great PTA involvement and support.

Great school. There is a common goal here: to educate each and every student. The principal sets the tone by being a hard worker. She is in the classrooms and is very involved with the children and the teachers. She hires the best teachers and support staff. The front office staff are very friendly. My children love it here. Volunteers are always welcome. PTA is awesome and is always planning fun activities. I can say without reservations that Eagle Ridge is the best school in Broward County.

Just moved here from california. Great school. The principal welcomed us in and took us for a tour. There are so many opportunities for parents to volunteer. PTA is very involved and active. I can't get over my experience in this school since august. Highly recommend eagle ridge as a high achieving and innovative school.

Great school. They really care about their students, and treat parents like true partners. They include students with disabilities in every activity. The principal is everywhere and truly cares about children. The teachers are involved and keep parents informed. Students know what is expected of them. Everyone is happy and busy, too. Can't say it enough: best school in florida!

I had two small children at Eagle Ridge for two years and it was a very positive experience. In my two years at Eagle Ridge, my childern were in kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It is a large school but the staff is well trained and experienced with large numbers of students starting with the Principal who is beyond spectacular and going from there. Volunteers are encouraged by the staff and I love the job the 05-06 PTA President did. I will miss Eagle Ridge and wish them nothing but the best!

their first and somtimes only concern at times is Fcat. writing and other subjects do not get much time devoted. The principal is the one behind this and should not be in charge of this or any school.
