Coral Springs Charter is a great school with many after school activities. Security good and athletics are fun. Most of the teachers are nice and the classes are exciting. This school has small classes so it's easy to make friends and the staff and principle are nice and overally this is a great school.
Principal is excellent - challenging academics, good security, after school activities and athletics. Nice small, family oriented school with great parental involvement. Administration and staff are very good.
Coral Springs Charter School is one of the best sources of education. It really is a wonderful school and deserves all the compliments.
I have a sixth grader in the school and overall am happy with the security, academics and extra curricula activities. We have many interested educators and some 'get a paycheck' teachers. Math, language arts and history are diverse and my child's teachers are interested in educating our children. I am unhappy with the P.E. program. I don't feel there is an actual curriculum it seems to be more of a 'wing it' approach with little diversity in sports education. The science has been very disappointing. Only one hands on lab this year, all others were 'virtual' computer labs. My child's teacher uses educational films to teach but never seems to actually teach. I hope this is a bad teacher rather than a bad science program. Middle School Principal and guidance department are very responsive to parent concerns and comments.
I am a current student at coral springs charter school. I enjoy it there. The classes are smaller, you get alot of attention. Most of the teachers have great expirence and will help you with anything. Uniform isnt really that big a deal. They have all kinds of sports... And a lot of clubs. Middle and high school are separated, the princible could be a little more caring but as for mr springer [assistant princable] and the middle school dean, mr. Leibowitz, are doing a great job. Their are hardley ever any fights, and their are strict disiplinary action if their is one, they do not tolerate any non sense or violence, ect. It has been an 'a' school for 5 years in a row! what an accoplishment. Anyways this is an amazing school and i enjoy going there. 2Nd day of school, august 21st, 2008
Most of the teachers are amazing at this school. Unfortunately for my son, he received a teacher that was new to the field who had no idea about the classroom. After a long year with this teacher breaking down and losing it in class( with no back up from administration or guidance) he finally quit. The school as a whole seemed indifferant to the situation. They wouldn't remove him even know the grade would count for his high school gpa. This school is amazing if you ONLY have to deal with the teachers!! If you need anything from any other department, you are in trouble. Emails and phone calls not returned. Attitudes from the front office while trying to reach anybody that could help the situation. If they could just fixed thoses problems, the school would be great.
I am a student at cscs. I like it a lot here i feel very safe, there are security guards everywhere. I like most of my teachers but i have one or two who NEED to be fired. As for fights there are not too many and when there is one it is broken up very quickly. I do have to agree that the principle does not care and is not easy to talk to however, the middle school dean and the schoool vice principle are AMAZING! the vice principle Mr.springer is very friendly, easy to talk to and knows alot about his students. He knows every students name and grade and he even knows about who's dating who. He is very involved. Overall i think its a great school for any child. You'll love it here!!!!( p.s. i thought i would hate having uniform but it really is great.)
This school is the best, I most admit middle school teachers weren't my favorite, and it did seem that they did not care at some times, but High school teachers are better. The students form a bond with more high school teachers than middle school teachers, and we re challenged more. I have to agree with the person who said when you want something, you have to do it yourself because sometimes, some of the staff dont bother, but if you keep going back and annoying them about it they eventually give in (keep copies of everything). The school has a lot of students who do want to learn, and students who dont want to learn, who fail and leave by the time you graduate, (and some come back). It is strict, but administrations sometimes work with students.
only one word can describe cscs OVERRATED! The teachers dont care and nor does the admin. the only thing they care about is thier reputation.
My son is a junior at the cscs ,he started when he was in 6 th grade. He is in the National Honer Society math club, talent 20, and in the police explore program not to mention his social growth and self estem that he gained from the great football coaches. Rate this school , I cannt find a high enough number! But I can say thank you to the entire staff for helping make my son the best he can be. very proud parent.
I go to this school. I have lots of friends, great teachers, and a great education. However, in this school it seems like whoever doesn't want to be your friend whats to be your enemy.
In middle school, my child has yet to receive proper Math instruction. I also feel the administration is at times insensitive to families. They are holding an 8th Grade graduation ceremony at 7:30 in the morning the last day of school. This makes it difficult for working parents and siblings to attend.
I have kids that attend this school in both middle and high. I like the academics and the structure that the school has and some teachers are fair with their students.
Westchester elementary is a very secure and friendly school. The principal is on top of every story, and make sure his staff, parents and kids feel important.
Content is interesting and challenging in all my daughter's classes. Discipline is rarely a problem. Strong bonds are formed between parents as a result of the parental involvement requirement. I love the fact that students who apply for admission know that uniforms are required through high school, and they are willing to wear them in order to attend the school, knowing they will get a better education than they might in other area schools.
