Coral Glades is a great school, great environment to educate kids, we have live in Coral Springs for a while and we love it
My daughter just started her junior year and first year in Coral Glades High School. So far I am very pleased with her drastic improvement. I am happy with their JROTC program. Mr. Danny Trito is excellent in addressing students' concerns.
Why are the FCAT scores so low? The scores are important. When my older son went here the scores were decent and now I'm afraid to send my other 2 boys to this school. I'm praying that I am able to send my other sons to Coral Springs Charter school but it boils down to being lucky enough to win the school lottery. It''s really sad.
its an awesome school!!! the lunch is a little on the downside though :) they have great activities to participate in :D
Great school! JROTC program is great and the teachers get really involved. My son graduated from it and my middle schooler can't wait to go there next year.
My daughter has attended CGHS for the last 4 years and OVER ALL with the ups and downs in life I HAVE TO GIVE this school 4 STARS - MUCH THANKS TO MRS EDWARDS (guidance) AND TO MR SATTY (asst principal) for always being available and quick to act. Its people like you that make our schools SPECIAL!! Mrs Spoon
I am a freshman and so far I am quite satisfied with the school despite several complaints. I have all honors except geometry and strangly enough this regular class is the most difficult. This school doesn't seem to care about anyting other than their overachievers. So what if these kids aren't the brightest, the only reason they flunk the class is because they think they are before they even try and the teachers don't help by conditioning their minds that it is 'really hard'. So if your not in 'average' classes this is an ideal school for you. I really like the method that the majority of the teachers use. They actually teach us, with 'lectures' and then quiz us. As long as you pay attention and study, straight A's should be no problem. As the year progresses it shall be interesting to see how this review will change. Overall, its pleasent.
I'm a freshman and already I cant stand the school. The teachers only focus on the work ethic and not the well being of their students. The principal only worries and the 'looks' of being a good school but not actually 'being' one. Lunch detentions and internal suspension are practically an obsession among faculty because they arent quite sure what else to punish the kids with. Im hopefully leaving the school after this summer and will never recommend it to anyone..
The four years the school has been open has been absolutely unsatisfactory for me and my 12th grade child. The principal is not up to par and the teachers do not know what they are doing. The work my student brings home is ridiculous and insufficient to her future studies. In the end, I am very disappointed.
I feel this Principal is more concerned with the 'appearance' of doing a good job instead of actually 'doing' a good job for the students. I see the mode of operation to be the shotgun effect, throw enough stuff out there and maybe some of it will stick to the students. Some programs are very supported and others that would benefit lower achieving students trying to find a career path are left to fend for themselves. Maybe that's the trend in Coral Springs schools - teach to the advance students that can make you look good - remember, it is all about 'appearance'.
After having three gifted children go through this and other schools, I have been very disappointed. Without painting the brush to broadly, too many of my childrens teachers are substandard. These are honors courses that are taught content to too far from the subject or insufficiently to allow but only one or two students in the classes to pass the AP credit exams. I also emailed the principal of this high School on an issue of questionable language used by teachers in the classroom asking what the language policy was. While my email was not abaisive, I received no reply. A second email met with the same result. While I am sure that some of these issues span the greater public school system, I remained disenchanted with the school.
This is my son's first experience at Coral Glades High School as a 10th grader with ADHD, and I feel like what I've tried to get accomplished over the years is finally being accomplished with little effort at Coral Glades High School. Actions speak louder than words, and their actions back up their words.......they truly care about my son's success!
This is a new school with a bright outlook for upcoming high school students. The campus is spacious and teachers are good. It is a very diverse school with a great mix of all types of children. I would just hope that more extracurricular activities will be introduced. Definitely should be an A/B rated school.
