My experience with the Lakewood school was pleasant at first. Their positive attitude and their demeanor towards our child was refreshing. That lasted for about a month. After we informed them that she might not stay in the school for more than 3 to 4 months their attitude towards our 3 year old completely changed. Their demeanor changed from working through her issues to sending her home early at the slightest sign of a childish temper tantrum to stating that they just did not have the man power to work with her and immediately removed her from the school. This was an unacceptable, now our child is left with feelings of rejection. Our child has abandonment issues so change is very rough for her, I will say that our child was very happy before a few small issues with teachers occurred (teachers going on vacation) and they had to regain her trust, something they were not willing to do since she was not enrolled for longevity in their school, which was a shame since we were going to be able to leave her to attend indefinitely. Their attitude towards a child with special emotional needs once they found out that they would not have reaped the benefits was just plain wrong.

Disregard what I wrote in the other review above. They are not what they seem to be. This "Christian" school seems wonderful in the beginning but when you look deeper you start to see through the facade. What at first seems like discipline is in reality more like oppression. We were dealing with some issues and with no warning the principal decided my kids needed to be "at another school". Rather than handling it professionally we were left a note in a cubby telling us their stuff would be collected and ready at the end of the NEXT DAY. One day's notice is all this "professional educator" with "50 yrs experience" was willing to give my children after we had supported them for 4 years.
