The children are given an abundance of standardized tests, and classrooms are perpetually interrupted for visitations, reviews, or to finish another "benchmark." The students are not learning material. They are learning how to pass a standardized test, and cannot perform academically on grade level. Last minute communication and poor organization from the head down make this school a hectic environment that I would not recommend to any parent.

This was our 1st year at Four Corners and absolutely loved it! We moved here from out of state and I was a little hesitant to send my daughter here at first because of the fact that this was a "charter" school, but do not let that deter you. This is a great school; wonderful staff and many activities for the kids. My daughter has always been an "A" student and this school really challenged her and she did not get "bored". PTA is excellent and parental involvment is very welcomed! I highly recommend this school to anyone. Also, I feel very safe sending my child here. The principal and dean of students have an "open" door policy and are always there to help in anyway they can.

We asked principal for help with out ADHD child. All we needed was a copy of a lesson plan. We were told they were not willing to help, if we wanted county support let the child fail for 2 years, and to stop bugging the staff for help. They have other kids to worry about and not just yours. This was from a meeting we had with the principal after she gave a speech about teaching to the kid and not the class. Unhelpful, teacher like to humiliate the child. For example I witnessed teachers putting kids desks under a chalk board in front of the class and telling the class they needed to be good. If they were a bad kid like this person was they were going to get in trouble as well. Always making a public example and telling other this is a bad kid. Awful child moral. Tried once more to get help as we felt we were emotionally invested in this school and we were told to leave them alone or leave the school. We decided to go with the Florida Virtual Home School and have loved it since!

I am considering moving to the area and have been doing my homework on the area and schools, etc. I spent some time reading these reviews and went from pleased to concerned and then I remembered one very important element in any school - the parent involvement in their childs education and their child school is what makes the school a success or failure. It seems from the number of negative comments some parents are not doing their job and feel the schools and teachers should do the job of both the parent and educators - if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem!

this is a great school. i've enjoyed my time here. ths my last year. i look back and see most of my great memories was in this school. like anyother student here, i agree we should have more options for our uniforms. the afterschool activities are picking up this year. we still need more but so far so good.

this is the first time in 3 to 4 years that I am really thinking about taking my children out of this school - discipline depends on the mood of the dean and the communication is poor not to say non existent. A lot of the parents are taking their children out or at are looking for an alternative. The school put ridiculous stress on these kids during FCAT, which was definitely not the case last year. It is sad what happened to the school in one year and I hope that the school board and Charter USA takes a hint and steps in - this school was fantastic last year and the year before and I told everyone to try to get in - now.... I caution everyone!!!!!

I first attended FCCS in 3rd grade and stood there until 8th. I was one of the students of Mrs.Abbott. I am now a college student at Lake Sumter. Four Corners holds many of my precious memories. I loved the teachers there, they always did their best to help me out whenever I needed something. My classmates were really helpful as well. I learned things that I've kept with me until this very day. When we had to wear uniforms, I didn't like it so much back then, but I have of a completely different attitude towards them now. Although it may not be the same as I left, I'll always think of Four Corners as one of the greatest schools ever.

I love this school. I've been here since the day it opened nine years ago. This is my last year attending FCCS and i think I'm prepared right now for high school. The teachers are wonderful, even if some of us don't get along with each other. I have to say Mrs. Reagan is the best seventh and eighth grade language arts teacher. Yes she is a little crazy, and some times scary, but she teaches us like we are on our way to collage rather then High school. Learning here is great, although I am not fond of the uniforms. since the school opened we were allowed a variety of colours for the shirts and the bottoms, but now its a solid dress code. At the least we should be allowed different colours without looking like clones every day!

Two out of my three chilren currently attend Four Corners Charter School and it is the best!! My other child who does not attend right now went here from 1st grade thru 8th grade. She is now in High School and she told me you can tell the Four Corners Students from the other students in class. She said we are very prepared and we know what we need to do to be successful!! My two children that currently attend go are doing fantastic. I love the uniforms, yes they maybe a little pricey but it is just as much as buying regular clothes for schools that do not require uniforms. The teachers here are fantastic along with the staff and the Principal. We are currently an A school and the curriculumn that Charter Schools USA has provided is awesome. I see the learning differences in my children everyday.
