Nova Middle School

nova is a good school i think my child should go out there and i am goin to sighn her up for nova next year

I went to Nova all my life and it used to be a great school until they started letting bad kids in from notorious neighborhoods. There used to be a racial balance system, but they tossed that away and now it's a horrible school. Nova High went through the same thing but they they still have their decent curriculum and good programs. But Nova Middle school is terrible, you might as well send your kid to their neighborhood school. Nova isn't what it used to be

I agree with the May 20th post. All though my child who is a new 6th grader does have a few exceptional teachers for the most part this year has been disappointing . I discussed my child being bullied with the 6th grade vice principal & could barely understand him. My child made the track team but it was a disorganized mess. There is a new principal starting in August so maybe changes will come about

Disappointed in the school given its reputation of excellence. Older son started there in 2007 and had a very good experience. Younger son started this year, 09/10, and its been incredibly disappointing. There seems to be a lack of discipline. My son is constantly called names by other students and the teachers do not put a stop to it. My son hits his breaking point and reacts, then he is given a referral. I'm wondering if any other parents have the same experience?

My child has been doing exceptionally well since attending this school. I believe they are doing an excellent job. Well done to all the staff and teachers.

nova is and excellent school, I am in 6th grade now and the teachers have helped us get through the transition and have been very supportive.Yes nova does have a few problems but all of the good things make up for it. We hardly have any subsitutes and I am glad I have the chance to go there.

Its awful the bathrooms are disguting. The principal or teachers don't care for your child or what you have to say. Some of the middle school is in the high school its just awful!

I have enjoyed Nova's ability to experiment with new ideas. Their teachers challenge the kids. I like they way they communicate with the parents via the website or their voicemail system. If my daughter doesn't relay the message I get it in these other ways. They have a great music program, both symphonic and jazz bands. The parents are very present at events, both sports and music. If you are at this school it is because the parents wish for something better. The only thing I dislike is the amount of substitutes that my daughter has had.
